Noooo not another Henderson is bang average sessionFebruary 9, 2020 at 6:46 pm #1825296
Back to the thread, out of the U23’s Neco, Larouci and Curtis look most likely to be able to step up and cover next season. Which for me means we need to blow the budget in attack! Werner and a wide pacey player pleaseFebruary 9, 2020 at 7:14 pm #1825301
I did not konw that he is on loan.February 9, 2020 at 8:12 pm #1825307
Adam Lewis also a Young leftback to watch out for.
Was touted to step up this season but suffered a bad injury very early in the season. Only just coming back now.February 9, 2020 at 9:14 pm #1825309

I think he will be sold but I have to say chiverrlla has really surprised me this season.
He’s improved bigtime since he first came on the scene. He’s still only 22. Maybe his chance has come and gone with us but FairPlay to the chap and he might get a few decent offers after his few displays this seasonFebruary 9, 2020 at 10:40 pm #1825312
Chirivella defo looks like he’ll have a decent career as a professional footballer. These last few games he’s played for us has really put him in the shop window and there’s more to come.
His future however very probably isn’t with us.February 10, 2020 at 3:54 am #1825315
Still feel Chirivella would be a handy player to have around but if he wants to move on for more football, that’s his decision. He’s almost 23 and still playing in the reserve league for the most part. Elliot is a weird one IMO. He has the all round game but doesn’t have the end product to match it. Like Harvey Barnes at Leicester. Hoping to see Williams start against Norwich and either TAA or Robbo rested for the CL.February 10, 2020 at 7:40 am #1825328
Contrary to 5 years ago there are players who want to join our club. They want to play for us and this is very pleasant. Of course money play grat role but we can choose good and not too expensive players.February 10, 2020 at 9:54 am #1825359

Taa will start Saturday razor. He has had a two week break mate so I’ll be very suprised if he doesn’t startFebruary 10, 2020 at 10:03 am #1825365
The AFCON tournament will alter our transfer strategy this summer, we need a extra attacker in as there is no way we can get through the whole tournament with both Salah and Mane there, on the good side I doubt we will see any bids coming in for them. They are both likely to want to focus on winning the tournament and moving clubs is never good before a major tournament and losing them is not very appealing to anyone.February 10, 2020 at 10:16 am #1825370
Not sure how much this is true but a friend of mine mentioned that it’s possible for Nike to pay most of the cost on any deal for M’bappe, including his wages, signing on fee, agent’s fees and part of his transfer fee. Apparently it’s something that sponsors do on major deals. Again, I don’t know how much this is true but it’s the only way I can see such a deal happening.February 10, 2020 at 11:24 am #1825405
300 mil are a lot of money!! If it is true of course.February 10, 2020 at 11:39 am #1825413
I think it’s very harsh to judge Elliot on his finishing at 16yrs of age.
He has plenty of time to develop that aspevt of his game.
I remember when Coutinho first arrived at 19yrs old he’d frequently skew shots. He developed that part of his game as he got older and became a very good finisher particularly from distance.February 10, 2020 at 1:42 pm #1825436
Fully expect Klopp to sort things out with him ginger. I think he has everything there to become a top player. Not judging him as a player or what he’ll become, just my opinion on his current game.February 10, 2020 at 10:54 pm #1825544
Kai Havetz is increasingly looking like one of the few players that could play the “Firmino” role.February 11, 2020 at 1:55 am #1825567
Mbappes high wages would mean other players would start banging on Klopp’s door for higher wages. I think we have a model whereby we buy talent and no matter if they cost 10m or 100m we try to ensure they fit into a wage structure. For example, look at all that Salah has achieved and see that he is on 220 reportedly. Mbappe wages are going to be in the 350k range (conservative estimate). All our top players would then want some sort of parity with that, after all, you could argue that the likes of Mane, VVD and Salah have achieved more success in the last 12 months than Mbappe. For this reason, I don’t see the Mbappe thing happening, I think the club has committed to an ideology that is more about the value and incentive-based bonuses. As I said even if we could afford his wages the knock-on effects would be financially destabilizing.
Anyways I think I prefer Klopp buying cheap and then making them into megastars, I never get bored of that!February 11, 2020 at 8:36 am #1825591
A good choice for CB is Jimenez from Atletico Madrid but he will probably cost more than 50 mil. Regarding Mbappe, Harvetz, Sancho etc their prices are too high for Liverppol standards. Of course if Firmino leaves the minimum price must be 120-125 mil…February 11, 2020 at 3:47 pm #1825736
im actually rather impressed with the end product the lad has, Elliott could have had a goal or two, he has set up a lot of chances, he is a bit more focused on the defensive side and not leaving any gaps open right now than he was at the start of the season but thats a very good thing. He got natural talent on the ball, far more advanced than any other youth player I´ve seen at the same age as he. Seeing him reminded me of seeing Eiður Smári for the first time in the Icelandic Championsship, the difference is that Eiður was 18 at the time and recovering from a really nasty injury and that Eiður was taking the step down to get some gametime after coming through the ranks with Ronaldo at PSV. Sterling is another player in more recent times he reminds me off, Raheem tried to create and his work rate really stood out.
I don´t expect much activity in the summer, we are likely to get another forward to cope with the schedule during the afcons but that also kinda depends on Shaqiri and Origi, we´ve already bought Minamino, we need someone that can push for more gametime than both Shaqiri and Origi. I hope Origi stays as he is both a cult hero here and he seems to be happy with his part but Shaqiri on the other hand is nowhere to be seen. He must be itching for more gametime and I bet he is going to get some good offers this summer.
In midfield the only one I see leaving is Lallana, I´m still impressed with his attitude even after all this time on the sidelines and in form I love watching him play, his close control is amazing and I reckon he is up for a new challenge. Other than him its just our players out on loan I wonder about… Both Wilson and Grujic, they are both players that can fetch around 30-40 million on the market today and they are both players that could fit into our side so I got no idea what is going to happen with them this summer.
In the defense Clyne is gone, that´s a certainty as his contract is up I think, I hope he finds his way again. Then its the curious case of Lovren, is he going to leave next summer… if thats the case then we will buy big, we are not going to go for a squad player, we can either go big and get a partner in for Van Dijk or we take a step back and decline as a team. Both Gomez and Matip can do with the challenge, same goes for Van Dijk.
So right now I say we need a wingback and a forward and then we will cover for any departures, if Lovren for example leaves I´m 100% certain that we have already established a defender to take over from him but Klopp might spring a surprise on us, he might want to try out a new tactic next season. One of our key players might leave but I doubt it, as we put a lot of effort in securing them on long term contracts and I´d bet that everyone is pretty happy with the new commercial pool that is being generated by NIKE atm.February 12, 2020 at 4:51 pm #1826102
The headline says it all.
And at a very good price too.February 12, 2020 at 6:01 pm #1826103
I’m quite excited for this summer. If we do only end up signing Werner I’d be quite satisfied with that. Not expecting much anyway with the plans for expanding Anfield advancing this week. Hats off to FSG for delivering everything we could have hoped for and then some. Expecting Minamino, Jones, Elliott, Williams, VDB and 1 of Larouci or Lewis to feature more prominently next season so they’ll be like new signings. It’ll be great to see a group of youngsters brought through for a change.
