Reports suggest that Cech was against moving Lukaku on?
June 27, 2022 at 4:36 pm #2108906999 yes reports said so. I can see why Cech is against though, him & Marina worked so hard to bring Lukaku to Chelsea. But if this is the cause of him stepping down, I incline to agree with Tuchel as Lukaku can’t adapt to Tuchel’s system. He is just too slow and doesn’t move enough.
But the reports before said that it’s Boehly who did not want to sell Lukaku?
Too many rumours, nothing sure. But the fact is that all Cech, Buck & Marina left the club
June 27, 2022 at 4:53 pm #2108913I’m a massive fan of Cech and I was pleased to see him back at Chelsea but I’m not entirely sure how he fitted in perhaps with Marina he added football expertiese but with a Sporting Director who will have football expertiese allegedly to be coming in that left Cech in a vulnerable situation and I suspect he would have wanted to be considered for the Sporting Director role himself?
Things were never going to stay the same after the departure of Roman!
June 28, 2022 at 5:51 am #2108962If Cech left because of Lukaku, then it meant he couldn’t see beyond the nose on his face. There’s such a thing called harmony, regardless of anything else. Disruptive people cannot be tolerated in a team environment, especially the one TT wants to develop at the club. Lukaku had to go, we needed to cut our losses, as no one else was going to be stupid enough to throw good money at us for him. It’s not as if Cech has left us for a better job. There’s obviously a lot more to this than is being let on. Cech has been with us too long, than to just walkout
June 28, 2022 at 6:21 am #2108963Why we going after Sterling or Jesus, they are City rejects, or is it because there’s not much else available on the market? We shouldn’t buy simply for the sake of showing an intent or sending a message to fans. I have no interest in those 2 players.
June 28, 2022 at 7:56 am #2108978I’m reading this morning that Chelsea, City and Sterling have all agreed to this transfer, of course any news nowadays may or may not be true. Not sure whose leaving but for now we have too many attacking forwards.
June 28, 2022 at 9:04 am #2108998I think these will be 2 good acquisitions if possible. I don’t like the idea of Aka coming back. Chelsea are in for Matthijs De Ligt, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, but they are currently a bit off in valuation with Juventus for the Dutch international.
They have also put themselves on the table for Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan as well, according to the same report.June 28, 2022 at 2:21 pm #2109107Blueowner: for now we have too many attacking forwards. But they don’t score enough. Sterling wasn’t impressive at Liverpool but he was at City. If we buy him, I hope we will have his form at City, not the one at Liverpool. Lukaku will be gone, so one forward will surely leave. And I think one of Pulisic, Werner or Ziyech will leave too. So we can’t have too many forwards.
Now about central defender: I think Rudiger is a class above all names mentioned. But we have no choice as he left the club. I for sure won’t go for Aké, not good enough IMO, and not big enough. I would go for one of de Ligt, Bremer or Skriniar if possible to be paired with Thiago Silva and another CB (Chalobah, Colwill?) in a back three.
June 28, 2022 at 8:16 pm #2109231June 28, 2022 at 9:12 pm #2109248I see Raphinha has been confirmed as a done deal by quite a few credible sources, never really seen much of him. Quite a tricky type of player from what I can remember.
June 28, 2022 at 9:17 pm #2109249Not sure what Raphinha can add to the squad. I would prefer Sterling hands down. But I read somewhere not so long ago that Tuchel could use Raphinha as a wing-back. Like what CHO has been doing until his injury. Whereas Sterling is a pure forward: a false 9 or on the left/right side of Havertz. 2 different positions for Raphinha & Sterling.
June 28, 2022 at 10:13 pm #2109263I’m not sure it’s a case of either/or Aindro, maybe we get both 😆 Sterling left and Raphina right would be an excellent combination in 343 or 433.
June 29, 2022 at 7:33 am #2109285Still scratching around for players to replace Rudiger and Christensen. Give me stick by all means but Gary Cahill always gives 100% and could still do a short term job if we can’t get the players in we want. He was still going OK at Bournemouth last season and could fill a hole short term if we could get him of course. Apparently he is now a free agent.
June 29, 2022 at 9:29 am #2109326I think the plan if we were to sign Sterlinpg might be to play him through the middle?
June 29, 2022 at 9:52 am #2109335Not sure about that nine, I think havertz would be preferred down the middle but who knows right now.
Sterling havertz raphina
Not a bad combination but all rumours so trying not to get too excited
June 29, 2022 at 12:39 pm #2109401“Not sure about that nine.” In truth me neither Lucky but he would add to our versatility. Long way to go on both Sterling and Raphina so we mustn’t get too excited yet but that looks an interesting front 3.🤞
June 29, 2022 at 1:29 pm #2109420I think both would be great additions nine, especially knowing raphina is yet to find his ceiling and has been limited playing in a weak side.
June 29, 2022 at 10:25 pm #2109554Well Lukaku gone and I won’t miss him.
These two stories/headlines are 12 months apart, tells you all you need to know about him imo; Happy coming “home” to chelsea now happy comimg “home” to Inter!
June 30, 2022 at 12:35 am #2109561Lukaku gone! At last!!
Learning from this, if Raphinha wants to play for Barca, retract our bid! No need to come to Chelsea if he prefers Barca.June 30, 2022 at 8:36 am #2109577“Inter will pay Chelsea a loan fee of £6.9m plus £3.5m in bonuses if they win the Scudetto, and will cover all his wages this season.” Sky Sports.
