July 29, 2022 at 8:49 pm #21183492-1 to Chelsea at half time, Kante and Stirling scored
July 30, 2022 at 8:10 am #2118390I’m sorry but I have no confidence in Tuchel, let’s forget about his win ratio which in case you didn’t know is the worst in the history of the team this century. He puts on players who we all need to see if they good enough with 15 and 8 minutes to go. If his already decided they not why bother to include them at all. Also where was Gallagher and others? To add our first choice keeper has also deteriorated rather rapidly which is very worrying.
July 30, 2022 at 9:39 am #2118411Apparently this team is playing again with Udinese today but behind closed doors, this explains why these players missed last night’s game.
Chelsea: Kepa; Chalobah, Ampadu, Sarr; Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic, Gallagher, Chilwell; Ziyech, Broja, Pulisic.July 30, 2022 at 11:34 am #2118440Better performance should have been a bigger win.
July 30, 2022 at 11:36 am #2118443Moos, we all get it you don’t like Tuchel and you want him gone there’s no need to say the same thing over and over again in every other post you post on here.

July 30, 2022 at 1:06 pm #2118469Watching Arsenal v Sevilla right now were 4-0 up after 16 minutes. That makes our result over 90 minutes look a little better lol. We should have gone for Jesus in the window He’s got 2 and Saka the other 2.
July 30, 2022 at 2:51 pm #2118517We wasting too much time and money on overated big names.
July 30, 2022 at 11:27 pm #2118634Such as? The two ‘big name’ purchases so far are significant and already proven their worth. Both also were necessary purchases, especially Koulibaly to replace Rudiger.
If you are not going to be specific in your comments then best take note of what 999 has to say. Also, may I ask what is with the constant name changes this time Moses?
July 31, 2022 at 9:34 am #2118660Glad we didn’t go for Aka, we may as well use our current youngsters Colwill, Chalaboah or even Sarr.
July 31, 2022 at 11:26 am #2118674Fofana….why? What had Fofana achieved in his career, apart from being given a break by Leicester, that sets him miles apart from Colvill.
Colvill was getting the same type of plaudits that Mount and James got whilst on loan in the Championship, arguably the toughest league in Europe week in week out. Then, due to the wondrous efforts of the transfer team under Marina we recieved a two window transfer ban, we had a totally novice Premier League Manager turn these two players into regular international starters being sought by top clubs in Europe. Why can our present first team coach and his staff not achieve the same with Colvill?
July 31, 2022 at 11:56 am #2118687I have to agree with Moos I have no confidence in Tuchel, and here is why.
Name me one player who has significantly improved and performed at a consistent level since he arrived.
Why is after every defeat or points dropped his first reaction is to blame the team, as most recently in pre season. Pre season being the biggest joke as he had the get out to say what pre season is all about, fitness, learning and giving players a chance. Then, if needs be, give them a bollocking behind closed doors.
Which leads me on to the next point, we beat Udinese 1-3 on Friday. The starting 11 basically was last seasons, replacing Rudiger with Koulibaly and playing Sterling in the ever rotating left sided attack. What exactly did he learn, and what motivational message was that to any of the fringe players. Then to rub salt in the wound he played the fringe players in a second friendly behind closed doors, reinforcing the message of where exactly they stand.
Yes he won us Cup competitions, but applying the same logic he has lost us the same number, and as Chelsea supporters we know only to well, lady luck and referees have a big say in Cup results.
Factor in he has a history of manufacturing his own demise I cannot warm to the guy nor have I total confidence in his ability to motivate the team and deliver a league title, especially given the competition at the top this season.
I hope very much I am proven wrong, but if the man has any sense at all, the next signing he will break his balls to get is promoting JT from whatever this coaching consultant role is to asst first team coach. That will at the very least resolve the motivational issues.
July 31, 2022 at 12:53 pm #2118700All about opinion’s NI and personally I have no problems with anyone questioning Tuchel he’s certainly not infallible the only issue I have is when someone posts the same thing every other day, day after day week after week, month after month as in fact so does the rules of the forum.
In terms of winning the title unfortunately we are miles away from that currently as we try to rebuild which as we know in itself is not easy.
Only Tuchel knows the rationale behind Friday nights team selection v Udinese my guess is that he wanted to build confidence after the Arsenal 4 nil and the team v Udinese is likely to be very close to the team v Everton and he was looking for a bit of continuity going into that game.
July 31, 2022 at 1:39 pm #2118710Re Tuchel I was very impressed with him in his first year but clearly something has gone wrong, without going into details his not exactly radiating confidence, we must obviously see how he goes as the club had a tumultuous time with all these problems we inherited with this sad war and he also had big personal problems. I don’t believe though the new owners will be as sympathetic, they have invested an incredible amount of money and expect the club but particularly the first team to be successfull. Hope in time it goes well for us. We shall see.
July 31, 2022 at 2:21 pm #2118715Blueowner, ultimately all Managers are judged on results and Tuchel will be no different but very few Managers have had to cope with what Tuchel has had to cope with in the last 6 months.
July 31, 2022 at 3:15 pm #2118731Reserve judgement on Tuchel until Christmas. That is approx half way through the 2022-23 season with the Group stage of the CL completed.
We finished 3rd which was expected and drew two domestic cup finals against Liverpool (only to lose on penalties which we cannot hang the manager for) . In fact never lost against them them all season in four matches drawing the lot, two of which were 120 minute affairs.
We were within minutes of getting past Real Madrid that went on to win the Champions League. Can hardly blame the manager for that.
The Arsenal preseason loss one of his two best centre backs should have started. Koulibaly and Silva should have both been in from the start against that speed and quality. The team he picked was on a hiding to nothing and so it turned out. Preseason is not about the result, its about giving the squad a run and a chance which, in the main happened over the 4 or 5 matches played.
My opinion is that some are being overly harsh on Tuchel but have every right to have that belief as do those like myself that are reserving judgement for the time being. As 999 stated he has has an extraordinary 12 months to deal with, well actually really from the very start of his time at Chelsea. I will judge around Christmas time.
August 1, 2022 at 7:42 am #2118878This centre half position rather go for a unknown but good player and also utilize the youngsters, we can’t spend all that money on a big name centre half. It’s far too much, you have two very experienced centre halves now plus Reece and Loftus can also play as the front centre half plus the younger players.
August 1, 2022 at 8:14 am #2118886Am In right in n assuming the transfer season is until the last day in August?
August 1, 2022 at 8:14 am #2118887Allegedly £85m for Fofana.🤣🤣🤣🤣
August 1, 2022 at 1:48 pm #2119020I tend to agree to reserve any judgement about Tuchel until Christmas. He is an experienced manager, probably the best we can have at the moment and he’d done so far well with the Champions League and the trophies that followed (Super Cup & World Cup) plus the 3 lost finals. I hope he can prove the doubters wrong. It doesn’t mean that I am optimistic though for the new season. The beating against Arsenal wasn’t good at all and we still seem to have inability to score despite creating chances during pre-season.
About transfers, Sterling & Koulibaly are good additions. However it’s just strange with all the “hijackings”. Not sure what’s really behind the logic. It looks that we tried to hijack Mukiele, and now de Jong? Can’t we identify proper targets instead of hijacking other clubs’s targets?
Kepa’s rumours, not sure what’s in it for us if we loan him out but still have to pay 3/4 of his hefty salary. In the meantime, we will only have Bettinelli as back-up as Slonina will only join next year as he has to finish MLS season.
Fofana 85m, if we want him, let’s just pay. Ridiculous, yes, but we need a centre back after having missed de Ligt, Koundé etc etc. Unless we plan to use Colwill or Chalobah, which we should try IMO but not sure about what’s Tuchel has in his mind.
