Aindro – it did not work last time out when Zaha went to ManU did it…?

Potentially he was too young and could not handle the pressure but I do not see enough consistency to think he would do much at Chelsea…? KTBFFH

I would say that a top 4 place is imperative as it does give more bargaining power to retain the current players but is also a barometer to attract the top players that we may be interested in buying

I am still quite confident that Chelsea will make the top 4 and think that we can catch ManU. I am also of the opinion that Hazard is really happy at Chelsea. Of course he likes Zidane and by extension Real and we all know how difficult it is to fight the lure of Real or Barca

But if we can finish strongly this year and if Hazard continues to enjoy his football then I think we have a good chance of keeping him (and that may depend on whether Conte remains or not as he does seem to enjoy his football under Conte)

I actually like Courtois and still rate him as a top keeper so if we can keep him and keep the continuity going then I think that is not a bad thing

Time will tell but I will not give up on us or them yet. KTBFFH

I’m aware of that Phwepsi that’s why I put them up as the things that need to happen to have a chance of persuading Hazard to stay and even if we can meet them all as I said that still might not be enough to make him stay.

Personally i would like Isco at Chelsea. i’m a massive fan of him. i feel CR7 is holding him back at Real Madrid. if he comes to Chelsea assuming that we retain Hazard and Morata, we will have a very good team. he is very skillful and isn’t afraid to shoot the ball. skillful players are a rare commodity this age of football.

Chelsea.man: I don’t really follow Real. But the only way Isco comes to Chelsea is Hazard goes to the other direction. And if I could choose: I don’t want Hazard to go. He is world class, he is a proven quality, for me he is irreplaceable at Chelsea.

And assuming everyone stays (I mean Hazard, Courtois, Conte, we can only hope), I don’t think Roman A will grant money to compete with Man City, United, PSG or those 2 Spanish teams. We bought Barkley, Palmieri & Giroud, not Dele Alli, David Alaba & Aubameyang or Belotti. It seems to me that our approach is now different, is now more careful and more FFP responsible.

Having said that, I still expect us to reinforce. Getting the best players with right price. That’s why I suggested Zaha, who’s full of potential and who already knows Premier League. Hope that we will unearth good players with in the middle price like Marcos Alonso. And not making mistakes again like Bakayoko for Matic or even Morata for Costa. Probably our summer policy will allow us to make 1 big splash for a world class players and several small splashes by here and there?

I think and hope these next few games wake roman up and realise just how far we have fallen behind. We used to fight and compete with barca every year in the past. Imo we will be tore apart. After playing city united and spurs we will probably be about 6 points off 4th place.
We nEed stability and major investment. Quality investment. The players we are buying srnt good enough to compete at the top

Like i say. I think it will be an eye opening to the board and some fans on here

Yeah, we have tough runs. Hull followed by Barca and then the 2 Manchester team. I think this is a crucial period for us. If we can win 1 of matches, either against United or City: we should still be contender for top 4.

phwepsi, imagine yourself at Roman’s place. We had de Bruyne, Lukaku, Salah. And the manager sold them (for cheap). And look at our bright spot this year: Christensen, who came back from loan. I would be disgusted if I were Roman Abramovich. I would not buy too much anymore, I would dig into our reserve & youth teams.

I can’t say I am optimist, but I hope Conte will find a solution to get points from the matches against United and City. TBH I don’t see United special, we have a chance to beat them. City are something else though.

phwepsi – while I agree that the omens do not look great, do not write us off to early against Barca

Yes they are ahead in their league but they dropped points this weekend when they should not have so are not really hitting top form. Of course, neither are we but if this Chelsea squad cannot raise their game for Barca then they never will

My main concern is around the tactics that Conte will employ as he got it majestically wrong in both games against Roma so I just hope he has learnt his lesson. KTBFFH

Sorry but im completely writing us off against barca. We got battered home and away against a lets face it. Pretty poor roma side. I feel much of the same against barca. You can say its not the barca of old but your in for a shock. If youve actually seen barca play this year they are just as good as they always have been. Our midfield will get picked apart whenever they feel like it

I think the reality is that if Real Madrid come calling for Hazard. its difficult to stop him. i hope it won’t come to that. but if we don’t show any ambition and don’t sign players that match his ambition. Hazard will finally decide to leave Chelsea. but if the we get players that will match his ambition. i think he will consider signing a new deal. after all i feel he is fully settled in London. we kept him at the club all those years because we had been making good signings. but this season the players we have purchased are all grade B players. i hope the club changes our transfer policy.

Impossible to call the Hazard situation currently imo.

It will all come down to his personal ambition and at 27 if he wants to join Real who were his boyhood club as disappointed as I would be to see him go I would respect why he would want to go.

On the Barca games. The players will imo raise their games and even then it might not be enough. My main hope is that we put in a good account of ourselves whatever the outcome.

Is Hazard sending a coded Message to Chelsea that, if we miss top 4 he will definitely be off? there are alot of reports this morning from the papers. one report says that Hazard has told Morata that he would leave Chelsea for Madrid. and instead Chelsea will get Isco in that deal. another says Chelsea will get Asensio as part of exchange deal. but what i’m curious about is that how much do we value Hazard? i read that Real Madrid values Asensio at €150m. which means Hazard goes twice of that? or what? but that said, i hope we retain him.

Guys, Im actually done worrying about the overpaid money bags scorio’s left foot and what it can do. Im tired of reading or hearing about what the tabloids say… Im actually done worrying about any of CFC’s players, these are guys who are paid a god forsaken amount for kicking a ball around and many are too stupid to look after that and 80 percent go bust when they retire. No sympathy from me anymore. Im getting longer in the tooth and know that there are players you like and players you don’t.

Couldn’t stand Torres, just looked as though he knew his career was finished and just didn’t looked arsed at wearing the blue.

Two and Hazard… You know what… Im pretty sick and tired of reading about the will they won’t they move on bs. I’d rather thay made a decision and F-ed off or signed up. I actually think the club need to stop pandering to the likes of Hazard and Tbo and put them in place. But then I think Hazard has too much say in our dressing room and is far too beyond himself.. He thinks he can play striker when he is total pants in that false 9 position… Conte, stick him out left and tell him to Shut the F up and get on with it.

Who comes and goes, I don’t care anymore. I know they’ll be grossly overpaid and will probably down tools and stop playing for the club when things get a little too hard or difficult. that is the culture of our dressing room having stopped playing for the fans two out of four seasons…

So to any play who might read this little post. If you don’t like the club or not getting enough time, or your playing for the club and not busting a gut every game, or your form is so outrageously bollox, F-off somewhere else. The club will be here long after your living in poverty because you’ve spunked the cash it gave you…

Lidle cola… Oh F**K me… you still trying to engage your brain and fingers? Check out Hazards words after the West Brom game. I’ll help you… Sorry I can’t make them bigger so you can understand – try some coloured perspex, its what they give children in primary school.

‘He’s a great target man,’ Hazard explained to Sky Sports after the game. ‘One of the best in England, so when we pass the ball to him we can go around him – not just me, Willian and Pedro too. ‘He’s a good point of reference. So let’s play together. But it’s not just him, we have Alvaro too and I can play as a striker.’

Love you lots on this valentines day…

Gotta go with phwepsi on this hazard debate
I just love watching him in a Chelsea top when he’s on his game and to be fair he don’t have many iffy games
We have no one else who will put bums on seats like him and we need him to stay
Dread to think what sort of dross would be served up without him next season and no replacement of his skill
A player to be admired 😀😀👍

Agree with Roman all these discussions on Hazard and will he or won’t he go are pointless as is speculating on the fee.

Nothing will be sorted before the end of the season imo at which point Hazard will weigh up all his options and make his decision there are no hidden messages but without Chelsea can offer CL football Hazard is a lot less likely to stay.

As to Hazard’s value it won’t be set by what the media may or may not say a players value is set purely by what the selling club value him at and what the buying club are prepared to pay for him.

We’ve had Hazard for 6 Seasons at the end of this season and few top players go that long at a club.

We’re lucky to have seen him in a Chelsea shirt for that long I don’t want him to go but at 27 it’s probably now or never and Real were his boyhood team who he always dreamed of playing for one day. If that’s how it turns out I will be sad but I won’t begrudge him his move and he would go with my best wishes and thanks for all the great memories.

The problem then will be how do Chelsea replace what they’ve lost and that won’t be easy but we’ve been here before and the club is bigger than any player even one as good as Eden Hazard.

Unless the form book turns around we are going to finish 5th with City, United, Liverpool and Spurs filling the top 4 positions. I can handle playing in the Europa but the problem here we are going to lose the likes of Hazard and coupled with will not be able to attract any real top quality players the few that may be up to a transfer. Of the course the club takes a different view as for them CL is a must even though they not prepared to bring in the players any manager may desire, in defence of the club they have spent a lot with not much of a choice of quality to really bring in. Morata and Bakayoko were considered top buys by all the big clubs. Its really up to them to make it happen. On the othger hand the players that Conte wanted and I stand to be corrected were on the verge of 30 B
