Apparently Barca are desperately trying to get Coutinho to Villa deal done ASAP so they can record the transfer in this year’s income. They will be desperate to make another sale to record in next year’s revenue to register their new FT signings this summer

Re captain, we are pretty fucked. Agree it shouldn’t be a new signing and agree it ideally wouldn’t be a keeper. I’d go Bruno as he’s likely to play the majority of games next season

Just realised de Jong is now odds on to join us. Just need a good ball playing DM and that’s our midfield 3 for next season with Bruno playing deeper alongside de Jong

Wouldn’t be so sure about Bruno Homer. Can he play in a disciplined system? He has shown zero signs that he can. The greatest coaching in the world from ETH will mean nothing if Bruno continues to cough up the ball for fun. I think Bruno is the player most at danger under ETH.

Bruno was far more disciplined at Sporting, tracking back etc. I don’t know if he’s captain material but he can play in a disciplined system.

De Jong is a bit of a catch-22. Undoubtedly very good and a big improvement, but a huge chunk of our budget gone. When you consider we need a striker, and the inherent mark-up they receive regardless, we would spend close to 130-140m on 2 players. That said, picking up Kamara on a free, adding De Jong and (hopefully) a rejuvenated Van De Beek could bolster our lines. Not including Garner and/or Levitt who could feature to some degree. A midfield 3 of Kamara, De Jong and Bruno ain’t looking all that bad. Wouldn’t have been my 1st choice, but if ETH wants him then who are we to argue.

Regarding Bruno, I don’t get the ball-retention argument – i think it’s an easy stick to beat a player with. The players who continuously lost the ball most in Europe’s top leagues in the last few years were De Bruyne, Messi and Alexander-Arnold… Why? Because they’re trying risky passes to create goalscoring opportunities. In 2017/18, De Bruyne lost the ball 664 times – nearly 13 times a game… but City got 100 points and won the premier league. The day Bruno plays safe, high-percentage chances is that day he is finished as an attacking threat.

@roonshine – The problem with a player like Bruno comes when the ‘risk’ is far outweighing the ‘reward’. When he was scoring 28 goals in a season like he did last season plus loads of assists everything was just fine, but unfortunately the last 12 months have seen both his goals and assists stats fall off a cliff to the extent that all he seems to do these days is give the ball away, feign injury and moan to the referee.
If he carries on in a similar vein again next season he’s going to lose his place in the team, and rightly so.

Yes,Bruno need to up his game but he will be well advised by ETH. Really dont like his moaning during games and looks weak in the body.
Signing Kamara is my first choice of midfielders to be signed,a proper number 6. De Jong is more a number 8. The fee for De Jong is alarming and i am not 100 percent confident of how he fits in PL. No doubt about Kamara though,he´s the missing piece.

De jong would be a fit into the EPL. It is his third season at Barca, and honestly, he should be doing much better. People only looking at that, but the real reason is. At Ajax, under Ten Hag he was playing in the position that is suited for him. He got a lot of confidence to play amazingly. Looking at Barca, he’s playing out of position or sitting on the bench and when he finally gets a chance to play his position, the self-confidence isn’t there. Too many changes in position. I think that is happening with Bruno also. He’s not getting the ball how he should be in his first season. United is changing the lineup way too much. A team is built on self-confidence and when that is broken, they start playing badly, and when they want to fix it, they change the lineup again and again! Ten Hag def knows how to set up a team with confidence. Let’s hope De Jong is coming to United. Even rumors that De Ligt from Juve is coming!

Roonshine – It’s a good point about Bruno. I think he’s still top of the charts when it comes to chances created, passes into the box etc. The whole squad has suffered a huge confidence crisis and he’s included in that, absolutely nothing has worked the last few months – but the fact he’s still creating so many chances shows his quality.

That said, it isn’t the “risky” passes that people are getting frustrated with. It isn’t the potentially outrageous assists that don’t quite come off, it’s the fucking easy 10-yard passes that he’s playing straight to opposition players. It’s the pathetic attempts to win a foul on the edge of his own box, the stupid and pointless complaining to the ref. Since Ronaldo arrived he has been a completely different player to last season.

Ajax looking to sign AZ captain, left back Owen Wijndal. He’s 22, got 10 assists in the league this year and has a release clause of €10 million

Perfect upgrade for Alex Telles and after a season at the club will probably be better than Shaw too

If he’s worth 10 mill he’s already far superior to the lardy one!😂😂

@killy – Depending on which website you believe he cost between 30m and 34m, and his basic salary is 150k per week, unbelievable but true.

Whoever we buy, they must want to come. No more of these cunts who don’t want to come or don’t really care as long as the money’s right. Unfortunately, that pretty much rules everyone out 😂😂😂

“Lardy Luke” has often been described as our fittest player. In pre-season he comes first in all the training comps, players in the England set up called him a machine last summer. The fixation by people on here to call him fat is fucking hilarious and truly pathetic.

Hahaha where is the evidence for this absolute fucking guff?!😂😂😂😂 We don’t need to believe utter shite that’s come from twatter or some other dodgy source, our eyes tell us everything we need to know!
The fat fucker is blowing out of his lardy fat arse after 30 minutes on the pitch, as evidenced by the amount of yellow cards he gets for pulling back an opponent time and time again. He just hasn’t got the stamina or the fitness to actually run after them and stop them legitimately instead.

We saw just how ‘professional’ he is when he turned up for his very first training session at the club grossly overweight, so much so that LvG had to put him on an intense personal training regime, and as a result he wasn’t actually fit enough to make his debut until the season was at least 6 weeks old.
The only “machine” the lardy one resembles is a fucking eating machine, simple as that.😂😂

Happy, let’s suppose Shaw is the “machine” (i.e. on the pitch as opposed to at the kitchen table) others believe him to be, does that not make things one hundred times worse when you look at his record at United?
8 seasons, 1 injured, 1 very good (largely behind closed doors), 6 average at best, infinitely inferior to his full back peers in goals and assists, vastly more yellow cards, not popular with large swathes of the fan base, having had major issues with LVG (day 1), Mourinho (all through) and Ralf (most of the time).

Surprised there is no talk of us being in for Tchouameni. If the fee that is getting mentioned is correct, then £50M for a player of that potential seems like a good bit of business.

Very good prospect and well worth the investment.
Very good piece of analysis here by The Athletic. Shopping for ETH – Defensive Midfielder.

As for Pogba’s team saying he’d like to speak to ETH, I hope he is told to go and do one. Absolute fucking fraud….
