jm, LOL.
May 27, 2022 at 9:24 am #2099677Rumours of a falling out between Soucek and Moyes, West Ham interested in selling. Is he worth a punt or is West Ham his level? I’m thinking West Ham’s his level.
May 27, 2022 at 9:37 am #2099681Decent player. Probably Fellaini level. Good for a team with aspirations up to but not above PL top 5/ 6 team
Better than McT and Fred but obviously that not much of a barometerMay 27, 2022 at 12:01 pm #2099734It seems Bastoni is on the way to Spurs, yet another target passes us by. You’d have to figure these guys aren’t on our actual target list or we wouldn’t be beaten to them by the likes of Spurs.
May 27, 2022 at 12:50 pm #2099754@killyboye – it could well be that our lack of planning and effort is resonating off of players. Just read how Mane had agreed to join United but Klopp convinced him of their project (good choice there from him!), so you wonder how many other players were let down by Woodward and co. compared to other teams.
May 27, 2022 at 5:41 pm #2099860Sympathy – yeah it’s a good point. I mean how on earth did they let Bellingham go to Dortmund? Absolutely shocking. Sign the lad up and then loan him to Dortmund or whatever for fuck sake!
Fergie would never have let him sign for Dortmund.
Fucking Dortmund???!May 28, 2022 at 12:30 am #2099930Wouldn’t be too surprised if Paratici took Bastoni to Spurs. Doubt we were ever in for him given our links to Timber and Torres
May 29, 2022 at 8:59 am #2100315Fuck me, one paper saying they’ll make De Jong the highest paid player at the club (major mistake btw), another saying he’s instructed them to sign Nunez and Timber, another mentions Mukiele, another Nkunku. Where the fuck all this money’s coming from I don’t know. And isn’t offering big money and wages just repeating past mistakes? Have they learned nothing?
May 29, 2022 at 10:24 am #2100340At least you may not have to worry over Maguire for much longer, news over the networks is that his finally accepted his true meaning in life and will be joining Benitez’s team as one of the head waiters at El Cucaracha in Madrid.
May 29, 2022 at 2:00 pm #2100427Annoyed by these constant Kante rumors. Reckon it’s his side trying to get him one last big pay day
Still a good player – better than what we currently got, but he’s already 31 and starting to slow down, not a player we can build aroundMay 29, 2022 at 2:26 pm #2100449@homerjay – agreed: we really need to be aiming to pick up the new Kante who no one knows about yet and we can get for cheap.
It’s been too long since we picked up a player like that – our scouts need to earn their wage and find some decent players this summer.
May 29, 2022 at 2:53 pm #2100476That’s Rangnick gone. Really need a DoF now
May 29, 2022 at 2:56 pm #2100479The DOF will be a yes man.
May 29, 2022 at 2:57 pm #2100480Isn’t Murtough effectively the DoF?
May 29, 2022 at 9:00 pm #2100621Yeah it’s deputy DoF they are supposedly looking for
May 29, 2022 at 10:54 pm #2100642@MighytMouse-Music to my ears.
May 30, 2022 at 8:53 am #2100702This Nunez pursuit is gaining a lot of traction and I’m a bit worried tbh. Is he the real deal or a one season wonder? I don’t know, I’ve never seen him play. I mean, is he a hold up man, a hit you on the break man, has he got pace, is he good with his head? Lot of money and let’s hope our so called scouts are certain about this guy.
May 30, 2022 at 9:22 am #2100714JM, can’t speak to Nunez but it is on the back of one terrific season. As he is really young the back story isn’t there so definitely a big risk if more than 60m. Apparently there is a 20% sell on fee due to previous club so that is also driving up the price. Haven’t seen enough of him.
While its in a few papers, its coming from one single Journalist only – Dean Jones. Not sure how reliable he is. Would have thought several different sources would have this if it was a runner.
Not sure there is anything in it….May 30, 2022 at 9:34 am #2100722I think Nunez is the real deal, reminds me a lot of a young Cavani, we need to start taking risks on some of these young players instead of waiting and seeing if they’re as good as they seem and then having to pay millions and millions more to get them. Imagine if we’d gone and gotten Cavani 10 years ago? Or Fabian Ruiz 5 years ago? We now have a coach who has a very clear idea of how he wants his teams to play and probably has a very clear idea of who he needs in order to make his teams play that way.
If ten Hag is given the freedom to sign and sell who he wants, and he reportedly made it a condition of his contract that that would be the case, we have to trust that he and Murtough will go out and get the players he wants within the limits of his budget.
Although I have to say I’m worried that he seems to be putting all his midfield eggs in the Frenkie de Jong basket but what the fuck do I know compared to a coach like ETH, if he wants de Jong that badly, who am I to argue.May 30, 2022 at 3:46 pm #2100923Núñez seems to have good combination of power and pace – can play out wide, up top as target man or as defensive striker, pressing and running in behind
I don’t think all our midfield eggs are in one basket. Neves seems to be one of the backup options, I’d be surprised if Tielemans wasn’t also there
I reckon if we can’t get deal done for de Jong in the next week or so we’ll quickly move on to our next targetsIt’s a little strange we are not been linked with any DM’s like Edson Alvarez
