Partey has a release clause of €50 million. Apparently that’s the same price tag Gladback have put on Zakaria’s head. Partey, in his prime
now will be 27 at the start of next season. Zakaria, 3.5 years younger is still improving.
If we were signing a DM I reckon it would be Zakaria. However, especially with Matic about to sign a contract extension, I think we are more likely to sign more attack minded midfielders

Zakaria would be the better option age-wise. It’s possible they’re keeping Matic to be a mentor to young players like Bellingham and perhaps Zakaria if we were to buy him. I’d imagine the stand-off is that Matic wants game time and Ole isn’t willing to make him a guaranteed starter especially with Atletico in the wings. The only thing I can see is that Matic will struggle with the high tempo, high press game that Atletico play. I can’t really see why they want him to be honest.

They try to press from the front and force errors but they can put 11 behind the ball when they want as well and break with speed, like Ole did against City. Good old stubborn Simeone. He’s the ultimate pragmatist, when playing against a weaker team he’ll seek to overwhelm them with the likes of Saul, Koke and previously Griezmann. Against stronger teams he’ll park the bus. For parking the bus, which isn’t often, Matic is perfect, for the other games, he’s not mobile enough.

If Matic signs there won’t be anymore midfielders coming in. Money will be spent on a right winger and striker

Bellingham Β£30m, Sancho Β£120m and Ighalo (free?) is about as much as I can see us spending.

If we make Champions League next year I can see us selling Rojo, Sanchez and one of Lingard/Periera and spending 200m net.

I thought to conquer the world all they needed was Henderson.

They played with so much arrogance man it was so annoying, esp that little twat Arnold kicking Jao Felix at every chance and still swearing at him, I’m glad they were kicked out and I realised another thing, no matter how good VVD is, the moment their defence is pressured a little bit he is always out of the picture, just watch most of the goals they conceded this season, he is never around the D always somewhere outside the box

Had to laugh at the scousers. I’ve been saying to my mates for ages that they should be taking their foot off the gas in the league and concentrating on the cups. They’re 25 points clear for crying out loud. But no, they play the reserves in the League Cup and FA Cup, still play their strongest team in the league and now are out of the CL. They’ve literally got nothing left to play for. They could win the league next week or so and then have nothing to play for for 2 months. Fuckin idiots! They could have won it all this year if they wanted. Just an average premier league team now. No better than Leicester. Hahaha! Come back when you’ve won a Treble. Then we’ll talk about great teams.

They were level headed but recently Klopp has got a bit gobby. Saying stuff like our crowd will see us through and how nobody in the competition will want to draw them.

Klopp giving out about how Atletico don’t play proper football. I agree to an extent but at the end of the day it’s about winning and Atletico fans don’t give a shit about style as long as they win. They’re fully behind El Cholo. As long as they’re there or thereabouts in Spain and Europe, then the Atleti fans will be happy.

Liverpool have now lost 4 of their last 6 games. I think the league will be a lot lot closer next season

    #1834546

Imagine the Premier League is cancelled before Liverpool officially win it… they’d STILL never have won the Premier League =P
