Yes he is but i bet there are many out there better than our lot.
June 10, 2019 at 7:18 pm #1758342In the premier league, you need at least 1 centre half who dominates in the air and another who can play a bit. VVD can do both.
We have Rojo and Jones who are embarassments.
Smalling who tries but fails – not good enough.
Bailly and Lindelof do not have the height to dominate aerially – both can play a bit but the jury is out that they can make the grade. They do deserve a go beside a dominant centre half to see if they can form a partnership. Then if not, cut them.
Tuanzebe should be given the year on loan with Villa to see if he cuts the mustard while the initial promise of the beast that would have been, TFM, apoears to have evaporated after 2 dire loan spells. So then, who should we turn to for that dominant centre half?
DeLigt of course but he will turn us down.
Varane will stay at Real now that ZZ is back.
Maguire at the touted 90m does seem well over priced but slab-head knows the league and will settle ASAP.
Koulibaly is at least the same price or more, is 2 years older than HM (28 next week) and may not settle that quick and is not used to aerial bombardment.
Diaz looks a v good prospect and at 22 has great potential to get even better but at only 6ft 1in he is not someone who will dominate the Sky’s either.
Alderweireld would be a cheap stop gap if we thought Tuanzebe eould be that dominant soldier but he is kind of more of the same.It looks like Maguire if City baulk at the price.
June 10, 2019 at 8:43 pm #1758363William Saliba, 18, St Etienne, is 6ft 4in and hus agent was in Manchester over the weekend. Prob city bound but a prospect by all accounts. Either way, would need 2 or 3 years to come to the rescue.
June 11, 2019 at 12:22 am #1758379We need a CB for sure, Jose said that this St. Etienne kid Saliba was one of the best prospects he’d seen in years, up there with Varane, we’d have bought him by now if Jose was still in charge although with Jose transfer record with us I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing. I think he’s Def worth a punt. I think we should also buy two, if not all three, of Tielemans, Madison and Brooks. We’ve got James to play on the wing now as well, he’ll need games though to prove his ability. I believe we don’t need to spend big to get top players, they might not be top, top class yet but they are top players. Look at Leicester over the last few seasons, Chilwell, Madison, Tielemans, Ndidi, none were bought for top dollar but all will be sold for top dollar. The difference is, if they’re English and top class, we’ll be able to keep them.
June 11, 2019 at 9:20 am #1758421Saliba may be good, but at 18 he isn’t going to ‘boss’ the back 4. I like Dias. He’s big, strong, quick, commanding in the air and, like most Portuguese, technically very good. And he’s a regular international so he must be ready to go
June 11, 2019 at 9:22 am #1758424James, Dias, Fernandes, Wan-Bissaka and Rabiot would be a very good window. And a striker if Lukaku leaves.
June 11, 2019 at 10:36 am #1758455Agree on Dias and Rabiot but i havent seen James,Wan-Bissaka and Fernandes to comment on that.
The James signing looks like coming from Giggs and not our scouting staff solely.
June 11, 2019 at 10:59 am #1758468I thought Rabiot was a wanker and would bring huge issues to the dressing room?
June 11, 2019 at 11:14 am #1758476Maddison & Tielemans instead of Fernandes,R.Dias,AWB,and striker when/if Lukaku leaves.
June 11, 2019 at 11:23 am #1758480When somebody writes a book, movie, music or even parliamentary bill, they put their name to it. Wouldn’t it be great if the person recommending the signing of a player had to put his name to it and that information was public. He could claim the credit when the signing turns out well and get the rotten tomatoes when it doesn’t.
June 11, 2019 at 11:29 am #1758483Possibly redblood, but I just can’t see us getting Maddison and I don’t think we’re even interested in Tielemans. My list was what I think is possible, not my dream list.
June 11, 2019 at 11:30 am #1758484You haven’t got a clue what Rabiot’s like happy, other than what you read in the papers which, by the way, you’re continually telling us are full of shite.
June 11, 2019 at 11:38 am #1758489We need a CB obviously who has all the attributes but he needs to have pace, we already have Lindelof who isn’t the quickest. Maguire is a carthorse, we can’t have 2 snails at CB, they will get toasted.
June 11, 2019 at 1:58 pm #1758554Found this interesting, shame it didnt have all clubs but only picked 6, but Chelsea, Pool and United are there…..
June 11, 2019 at 2:01 pm #1758557Just read some newspaper 2 + 2, that Saliba is seen as a replacement for Bailly should we sell him to Arsenal or whoever . Saliba isn’t considered to be ready to be 1st choice. Whether any of this is true or not I don’t know, sounds like a good idea though
June 11, 2019 at 2:21 pm #1758567Quite an interesting info graphic. Utd seem to have a good spread of youth, peak and older players. Evidence therefore suggests they’re not good enough!
June 11, 2019 at 2:40 pm #1758574jm1502-I agree mate, everything its just idle talk on our part and papers gossip.Who knows what might/will happen come the August 31st.
June 11, 2019 at 2:43 pm #1758575@moral-Dias and N.Milenkovic of Fiorentina look brilliant every time I seen them play.
June 11, 2019 at 4:17 pm #1758594There’s one thing for sure, they need to get Pogba to extend his contract NOW or fuck him off this summer.
