Watched the England game yesterday. TAA by far the best player on the pitch and England’s only creative outlet even when moved to LB. Those who make the argument that he looks better for us because of our front line can go do one. Class act..

I love TAA, there have been many different suggestions for why we failed to win the title but for me it was when he went off injured we struggled and as soon as he came back we found our fluency again.

But for all that in 5/6/7 years time I don’t see him playing right back. He plays there more so out of necessity just as much as he does because he is a bloody good right back.

In the years to come, I think we will see him mature and maybe get the chance to do a Gareth Bale and eventually turn from full back to attacking midfielder.

TAA is the best attacking right back in the PL and probably Europe too. I’ve really been impressed with how Robertson’s come along too what a bargain. They both bring so much to Liverpool offensively.

Couple of diamonds you’ve got there lads although TAA could take his game to another level if he improves the defensive side of his game a little too.

I wonder if we’ll see much of him at central midfield any more or that experiment is done?

I think eventually it will happen, it has zero chance of it happening because there’s no one else who can play right back well enough with regard to what Klopp likes in a RB. Once we start buying competition for TAA (instead of Gomez) then we might see TAA eventually get his chance at RB.

opps i meant “eventually get his chance at AM” would be cheaper than spending 70m on bruno fernandes etc

According to CIES we have the 13th most valuable player and first +100m right back. Why would anyone want to move him from RB makes no sense

I don’t get this clamour for moving TAA to midfield.
He’s quickly turning into one of the best attacking right backs in world football providing assist after assist from that position for us. He could easily progress into THE worlds leading right back soon.
He turns 21 later this year and apart from a handful of games he played toward the end of last season at midfield (?) he’s never played there. He didn’t do too well there either.
We keep seeking for world class players in each position, well we have one in TAA…at right back.

Mwake not dismissing your views and understand you’re thinking about TAA in midfield because you perhaps consider that Chelsea, Spurs or Roma have a better midfield than Liverpool’s, but that’s where I disagree with most Liverpool fans because I’ve been lauding our midfield for about one and a half year now.
Many fans would point out that VVD was instrumental in our CL and PL campaign and I can’t claim otherwise but if we consider VVD’S performance in Dutch colours we notice that they conceded three goals against Germany at home whereas Bayern couldn’t score against us over two legs and had to rely on an OG, and the Dutch lost against Portugal a few days ago.
That’s where we can see the true worth of Hendo, Gini, Fabinho and Milner as they are important for the team to keep clean sheets. Strangely enough Gini wears both shirts and it confirms that Liverpool as a team is more than the sum of its parts. I would leave TAA where he is like Ginger says.

Agree, don’t try fixing what does not need to be fixed, could upset our rhythm.

IDK guys Im not overly impressed with TAA with regard to his defending, his attacking side is way better than his defensive side. Most of his plaudits come from the opportunities that he creates as opposed to the way he shuts down opposition defenders….Seen too many games from TAA where he has struggled to keep a winger quiet and has got turned inside out. Compare that to the great wall of Scotland on the other side who is better at defending.

No dont get me wrong, the lad is 20, 20!!! Amazing really and he has time to get so much better at this aspect but if youre looking for my reason for maybe thing he would be better upfront it is that his defending can be suspect, a move to AM would mean he wouldn’t have to worry about that as much plus his workrate and energy would fit into the type of AM that Klopp likes.

But again I repeat he is 20 years old and has playeed against some of the world best wingers and done well but still see defending as his weakness. Wan Bassaka at palace is a similar age and better RB (at defending) than TAA IMHO.

He’s kept Ronaldo, Sane and Sterling quiet defending an entire wing on his own as Salah is away doing his attacking thing.

You want the moon on a stick, that’s what you want.

Marcelo, Roberto Carlos (two amongst others) are regarded as great full backs, neither good defenders but great attackers from full back. Trent at 20 can defend just as well as these two could
