Not seen the penalty, was it clear or soft?
November 1, 2020 at 3:24 pm #1888944Typical salah penalty to be honest. Tapped on the back of his heel and he went down like the sugar plum fuckin fairy!
November 1, 2020 at 8:05 pm #1889132Quite right Devon. That penalty was insanely awarded for an ultra-featherlike soft tackle. What was VAR thinking of to involve the ref again? They obviously don’t have the required technology available yet to make the right decision themselves.
To be fair, Mohamed Salah did drop to his knees, kiss the grass and prey for forgiveness.
Cheats like him couldn’t lace Nobby Stiles’ boots.
Len.November 2, 2020 at 10:05 am #1889249Bale has been poor for Spurs. Is his first goal for them in nearly 7 years.
November 2, 2020 at 7:37 pm #1889430Blimey mu, that’s a worse record than Lingard.

November 4, 2020 at 11:20 pm #1890171So, what’s the answer at Manure? You guys signed two world class managers to take the helm and neither were given the time to stamp their authority on the team. Mourinho and Van Gaal were both booted after poor results and style of play, even though Mourinho got them to a second place finish with what we know was an overachieving team of players. Mourinho also is famous for liking gritty-type players, leaders across the field, something Manure are currently being criticised for lacking.
He was also very critical of not being allowed to make the signings he wanted. So, is the problem up higher than that?
As soon as Poch became available, I was very surprised Manure didn’t make an immediate move for him. In terms of philosophy and willingness to support youth development he is perfect for them. However, in hindsight, with the philosophy of the management at the club it looks as though it’s been a blessing for Poch. I’m not sure anyone could succeed at Manure at this point in time. If they want to get back tot their lofty heights you have to go all in, something it seems the club is unwilling to do.
I personally can’t see Ole taking them to their previous heights, whether he gets the investment support he wants or not. He just doesn’t cut and I never bought into the hype around him, even at the start.November 6, 2020 at 10:26 pm #1890812November 9, 2020 at 11:00 am #1891470Have to get this off my chest. Micah Richards is an fucking awful pundit, get this fucking clown off Sky.
Rant over.
November 17, 2020 at 10:39 am #1893244November 23, 2020 at 11:56 am #1894962November 24, 2020 at 12:31 pm #1895298So I come on here for the first time in a couple of weeks to post about the weekends footie matches, only to be greeted by these videos that have nothing to do with football? WTF is wrong with you mufc?? Little wonder posters aren’t bothering on here much these days. The Ed’s need to have a word with this idiot before he single handedly ruins this site for anyone that might still be left!
November 25, 2020 at 9:20 am #1895511November 29, 2020 at 3:52 pm #1896802All the dialogue over here is on the club forums but there is good chatter there…
About the league, I wonder if any club is going above 80 points 🤔 I can’t see any club capable of maintaining a high enough point ratio to get anywhere near 90 points.
The best thing that could happen to any of the top clubs is simple to drop out of Europe, that way they could go on a sustained run without losing half their squad to injuries.
We even got a couple of midtable clubs that could be in the running for top four but it all depends on the schedule and recovery time of the bigger clubs.
Big picture though, I suspect a rift will happen in the near future over the tv-deals and scheduling… it is silly how the smaller clubs can force the big clubs into a schedule that nobody can cope with under the circumstances…
Imagine if any of the top clubs had been participating in the fifa Cup… the league would have forced the club into playing 4 games a week, like fuck the players and standard and everything, let’s just focus on money!
Honestly I can take all VAR calls on the cheek but this is just absurd.
Its like expecting to take part in the Paris-Dakar rally and wanting to skip the maintenance part of the rally, just wanting to have one sprint to the end…
November 29, 2020 at 6:46 pm #1896892I honestly don’t know why Salah was given offside.
November 29, 2020 at 9:53 pm #1896961I know we all know VAR is fucked, but seriously today, Farcenal v Wolves. Traore gets a yellow for diving in the box, when you watch the replay, he clearly has his foot stepped on. No VAR check, play on. We’ve seen some shitty pens given this season, but this was a nailed on pen in comparison and they didn’t even check it! So basically this tells me, VAR will not check unless players appeal. Ridiculous!
November 30, 2020 at 3:44 am #1896989The dutch version of the offside rules is with two 5cm line, if the lines touch then the margin is so small they let the goal stand, so no more armpits, or a raised hand…
November 30, 2020 at 4:02 pm #1897159Linesmen will likely have a very peripheral role now. Offside is now completely out of their hands. Will they bother even training to spot offside situations? There is a video of Gary and Carra trying to spot offsides, and it a very difficult skill. VAR should only be applied so as to avoid a situation where a player is one yard offside and still score like Ronaldo did against Bayern.
Clear and obvious is applied in a hap hazard way. Wellbeck’s tumble after a slight contact is deemed a clear and obvious error by Friend whereas Pickford butchering VVD and escaping scot-free, does not strike the VAR official as something worthy of his attention. I’m mentioning decisions that have gone against Liverpool as I almost exclusively watch our games but fans of other teams will come up with ridiculous decisions that they have witnessed in other games. VAR is not the problem, it’s the people manning the technology that are clueless.
I’m at a stage where that I would like VAR to be scrapped, even if that means Utd or City, Chelsea get the rub of the green and finish champion.
November 30, 2020 at 4:12 pm #1897161Didn’t Welbeck say himself the penalty was soft? Fernandes did the same thing a week earlier vs West Brom. No penalty was given.
November 30, 2020 at 7:06 pm #1897195Rashford and Traore had a similar penalty claim recently, neither were given… There is something wrong with this scenario where they penalise one player and let two other get away with the same tackle… or does the FA think that they should give half and half of all decisions now that we have introduced VAR. Just flip a coin for it? Cause thats what it looks like…
Im not even pissed off about VAR, im pissed off about the schedule, I get pissed off when I see a player that I admire break down in every game…
