Well it has been quite cathartic keeping the diary of the season going and i look forward to a 3 month break from the chore are having to make the trip and watch a lot of poor quality football with minor highlights.
I sat back before kick off and enjoyed seeing a colourful sunny stadium almost full and a good atmosphere to start the game. We tried and again created little but hopes were raised when Shaq’s free kick gave us the lead. Sadly the same old story and we look like a bunch of headless chickens running all over the place. Right on queue in Hughes fashion the wrong sub made and within a minute we have conceded. A tiny bit of huff and puff but the lack of quality that’s been their ages and relegation confirmed.
Thats part of football life and our first really poor season for 20 years bar the great escape in 2003, so off to recharge the batteries.
Selby i passed your best wishes to Homzy and his family.
Clitheroekid mentioned you’d asked after me, Selby, so I thought I’d pop on to say hello.
My wife gave birth to our second child and first son the other day so the last week has been better for me than most Stoke fans! I’m a bit worried that I was born just after we were relegated from the top division last time, though – hopefully Harry doesn’t have to wait 23 years for us to get back!
If I was to write about what I think has gone wrong this season I’d be here all day so I’ll just say I hope you’re all well and philosophical about relegation.
We’ve still got a team to support on a Saturday and I won’t enjoy us winning games any less. Hopefully we’ll win a few more next season, too!
