So today we saw Woodward at his scintillating best reporting on the financial health of the club and making bold promises about how Solskjaer will have backing in the transfer market. As sad as it is to say, the numbers will have the board giddy and as intelligent investors we can only expect them to have told Woodward to crack on doing more of the same after the meeting.

The club posted consistent quarterly revenues of 152 million quid with a lofty year end prediction of 630 million quid in revenue – up 40 million quid on last season’s.

Woodward rounds off his remarkable presentation with a few choice words:

“Everyone at Manchester United is focused on building towards the success that this great club expects and our fans deserve. Preparations for the new season are underway and the underlying strength of our business will allow us to support the manager and his team as we look to the future.”

Notice no mention of “squad overhauls”, “change in management structures”, or “our football is shite”.

We can expect more of the same next season fellas. The squad clearout we all long for along with clever, fit for purpose replacements is simply not on the cards.

Come the start of next season I predict we will have signed a couple of world reknown names like Dybala, Kroos, or Griezmann along with a few rubbish unknown players and a raft of contract renewals for deadwood. Of course, the man negotiating and signing all these deals will be one Ed Woodward.

Oh yes, don’t worry lads. We have signed a deal with global hotel powerhouse Marriot and also have a new licensing deal with a posh eyewear brand so at least we can rest assured that the players will continue to bask poolside at 7 star hotels wearing the best eyewear money can buy.

Hopefully that wont be enough to stop the likes of DDG,Pogba,Lukaku,Martial and a few more pissing off.If we have the fucking scumbags like Young,Mata,Matic,Shaw and a few more appearing for United-we are really fucked!

@redblood. You seem to be on the same train of thought as everyone else on the page which is pretty much “business as usual”.

I see all the fellas discussing transfer business and supposed “plausible” teams next season when at the end of the day we are completely fucked as a football club as long as Woodward stays in charge of football decisions.

I am unable to discuss players in or out in the short term while we continue to have Woodward in charge.

The lunatics took over the asylum years ago and they are now released into the general population to spread their “ideas”.

@redblood. That’s fair enough my good fella, the debt is going down (marginally).

My issue is very fundamental. I have loved Manchester United since I can remember because it gave me a feeling of being behind a team that says “we can do it regardless of the circumstance because we have quality, tradition, and balls”.

I now find myself dealing with a completely different animal from the top down as a football club. It has forced me to turn to history to find answers..

We are on a downward spiral that will not stop until the money stops. Until the Glazers leave we are royally screwed and will only enjoy momentary glories in big “wins” against rivals or small cup wins. The level of investment required from now onwards is beyond the comprehension of Woodward and the board.

We still have the most bloated, inefficient scouting team in European football and we continue to have the most archaic football structure known to the decent professional football clubs. Old Trafford maintenance even embarrassed us in front of the entire planet last season when we had a massive fucking leak pouring water onto the pitch before a big game against Manchester City (which we lost) FFS!

I am royally f**ked off at Woodward and the Glazers. They need to be first on the priority list of any Manchester United fan’s talking points instead of the usual transfer talk. They are sucking the life out of us every day FFS!!

If I wasn’t clear the first time.. The football club is completely fucked until the Glazers and Woodward leave. Simple as that.

@redblood, these things run in cycles and it was bound to happen sooner or later in all honesty. Doesn’t make it any easier to accept either way. All we can hope is that the money runs out soon and the Glazers either decide to or are forced to sell.

I can’t see it being rip and replace either. Ole has already said no title challenge next season and that we have to rebuild sensibly, over time. Not exactly what we were hoping to hear but, at the very least, there is the semblance of there being a plan in place. If it’s a 3 year plan to get us back to the top then that’s a good start. We’ll certainly need to keep hold of Ole during that time so that we don’t continue to have a squad of strangers from different managers walking around the pitch with no fucking clue!

It will be a combination of promoting youth, getting the best out of some of the “stars” we already have and shipping out some of the utter shite in the ranks.

Darmian, Rojo and Valencia simply must be added to Herrera and Fellaini.
I’m sure Ole will be giving a chance to Tuanzebe and TFM as well keeping Greenwood, Gomes and Chong around the first team.

I think there’ll be a surprise casualty as well, someone like Matic. (Maybe won’t be that big of a surprise). So it’s a right back, a centre back and a right winger. CM as well, especially if Matic goes too.
    It’s 4 players tops.

    That’s a good start.
Then next summer the same again until we get it right.
Whatever happens this summer we’ll definitely have the likes of Martial, Pogba, Lingard and Lukaku in the squad next season I’d say.

@happyhurling. If you think there is any semblance of a plan at Manchester United then go ahead and read the article posted by steveosnakeeye above.

Mourinho might have been a prat but he was spot on about how rubbish the management is at the club and as long as Woodward continues to make football decisions – we are fucked, just as Alan Shearer said recently on live television.

Hatters- there’s little doubt that Jose was correct regarding structure etc, however a lot has been made recently with regards to putting a structure and a plan in place. The press is full of stories of linking us to all and sundry for a DoF or a Technical Director etc.

Ole speaks of a plan, too.

I disagree with Ole’s assessment that we do not need a CB – we patently do – but that may be more to do with the number of players we can bring in and settle into the team in a single window. Many on here were overjoyed when Herrera left. Some thought there were bigger priorities. Like CB.

It’s all part of the bigger plan.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens with the DoF, and the longer the wait goes on the less effective they will be this summer. However, should we eventually bring one in it has to been seen as a sign of change, surely?

Oh, as for Shearer – clever editing, as he recently came out and said. (Not that it wasn’t true!)

When the club says it will support the manager it means there will be at least one transfer. They said they’d support Moyyes and all he got was Fellaini in the summer. Ole probably knows the financial situation and hence the slowly over time spin. Yes of course we will spend but it will be under-investment considering the team needs a rebuild not merely strengthening or improvement.

Its just baloney and sour grapes from Jose. He talks of structure but what does he mean. He opposed a DoF. As for scouting he brought in his cronies so can’t complain there. He has nobody to blame for the failure of his signings other than himself.

I think Pogba will leave this summer. CL football, 25% wage cut and no title challenge next season. And if he leaves he’s got wage increase and excellent chance of title and CL medals. Plus the attractions that sunny Spain or France can offer. And DDG may very well be off as well. I would not be surprised if it turns out like when Ronnie left, the club ending up with a transfer profit or neglible spend.

Some of us cunts have been saying it for a while-United could do with a new stadium too,Spurs have done it,Arse,Juve,Bayern,Atletico,Chelsea are thinking/planning about it,so why not us?

    #1752665

There’s only one way to hit Woodward and the Glazers where it hurts – their pockets.

United supporters clubs around the world should band together and refuse to sell tickets for matches and convince people to stop spending on merchandise. Once their profits dry up, the Glazers will have to listen.

In a way, it worked at Arsenal towards the end of Wenger’s last season where people weren’t going to the stadium and merchandise sales decreased; it forced the owners to get rid of Wenger finally even though they were happy financially up to that point (don’t believe for one second that Wenger retired on his own terms – he was forced out).

I personally will not visit Old Trafford or buy one piece of United merchandise or give one cent to any of their official sponsors until upper management sort themselves out.
