Sean: But at Everton, he’ll have decent money to spend compared to his time at Newcastle. I wish him well at not at our expense.

Im Delighted for Rafa. Hope he does really well there but of course, nit against us.

A Liverpool legend in charge of city rivals could take some of the hatred between the clubs back down. The return of the friendly derby?

He could actually make them into a good team, they should be aiming to get into the top six and he is capable of pushing them there…

I agree Sean but at the same time look what Rafa had at his disposal and what he was dealing with (Ashley)? You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

Agreed there, ashley is a horrible, lying scumbag owner. Newcastle would have been such a good opportunity were it not for Ashley and he was the reason that he eventually left. No manager will be a success under him but at Everton, Rafa has a chance of doing something good. They need some work but they also have some very good players. Rafa will already know what he wants to do with these lads and I predict that he’ll start getting more out of same of their top stars, than we’ve seen, at least consistently, before.

The Liverpool dwelling lads on here won’t understand me putting the dislike of Everton aside and hoping that Rafa does great things with them but that is how I am. I backed Rafa to the very end, I only ever said he should go, only after it was clear that it was untenable. H&G were even worse than that clown Ashley.

Anyway, don’t hold my new-found hardcore support of Everton FC against me hahaha!

Van Dijk just declared himself fit and ready for pre-season, thank god for that… I was really worried that he was gonna rush back to get fit for the Euros…

Im happy the club and player decided to take the long route… Cause he will be like a new signing for us, he will lift everyone up around him once again…

He could even come back stronger than ever, I can’t wait to see him out there again…

He adds 10-15 points to the team, just by his presence and I bet Trent and Robbie have missed him greatly during their set-pieces…

Probably the most comprehensive squad available for day 1 off pre season in quite some time.
A major boost for the season ahead.
Also keep in mind Hendo and Thiago havnt played too much in the Euros either.

Not having the Brazilians back until Aug could be an issue for the season start.
Not so much worried about Allison, more Fabinho and Firmino.

That’s a definite worry. Already we have to look at our midfield options and no Gini or Fabinho is going to make for a weak midfield. By then we’ll surely have replaced Gini though at least.

I want to like it but the button top and the red are not great. This is a throwback to I the old cream kit but not a good one, if you ask me.

It is nicer than the rubbish Nike have offered up so far but it still doesn’t work for me.

Still, if this is something that a good section of the fans like, then it’s all for the best.

Doesn’t do it for me, too bland, no impact, looks more like a casual shirt, not a football one

Good news about VAR, no more offside toes or armpits… thats probably about 10 goals for us in the new season and there will less penalties as well after a record number last season, 125 penalties given…

So id expect some of rivals to score less, one team in particular played for penalties last season, they are not gonna get away with that again…
