i remember driving a hire car (vw polo) like a rally car between Galway and Clifton to visit a cousin with a wee stop over at roundstone…for chowder and pool…and many beers
Thanks for posting that mate. Sounds like he is in decent spirits all things considered. Having had people close to me in similar situations i think being hopeful that you can make a recovery is important. Fingers crossed it all goes well.
Yep, echo the thoughts above. Puts everything into perspective when someone can just drop down and almost die like that. Essentially suffering life changing injuries. Horrible.
I’ll keep in touch with him from time to time and send updates on this thread. Cheers.
Pleased to hear that Tommy is doing OK and sounds like he is surrounded by a wonderful family and brilliant medical people. Hopefully his daughters don’t volunteer to access Teamtalk for him and read out any of the above posts . They’d need to be thick skinned – eh Redblood.
Last i heard he was due for a series of operations which were important in gauging his ability to make a recovery, and to what extent. He was being kept away from the football as it wasn’t good for his health (maybe we should all stay away from United at the moment!)
Hi guys, had a message from his mate a week or so ago and forgot to stick it on here. Basically, his series of operations went very well and “against all medical advice” he’s taken himself down to his place in France with his physio for an intensive boot camp to see if he can get back on his feet.
The message signed off with “things are finally looking up for the old goat”.
All seems really positive, hopefully his physio can sort him out and he can get back to somewhere near a full (relatively speaking) recovery…
