I remember posting onto the website when Big Sam was sacked and replaced by Bilic. The gist of my post was that it was a huge risk on West Ham’s part – basically I said Bilic is rubbish and West Ham would enter their shiny new stadium as a Championship club.

I couldn’t have been more off the mark.

Bilic is doing an outstanding job and has already racked up half the points needed for safety in 10 games on a shoe string budget. He’s shown that he is tactically astute with some of his subs and lineups. Payet is proving to be one of the signings of the season so far and they are playing some really good stuff – I think Klopp would call it “heavy metal football”.

Well done to the Hammers’ ownership, management and players. The future looks bright for West Ham.

Its early days yet. People will suss it out and the squad isn’t that good, I can see it all slipping away quite quickly.

I have been very impressed with Payet.

Bilic doing a very good job so far things may get tougher for him as the season progresses but he comes across as a decent bloke.

I agree they won’t keep playing at their current level but all they need to do is stay up while waiting for their new stadium, anything more is a bonus.

I’ve been banging on from the beginning since the day they signed Bilic that he’s the perfect man to lead them into the big time. You guys are also wrong to say they won’t keep up their currecnt level. If anything, they’re on the verge of evolving to the NEXT level. I guarantee they’ll surpass Spurs/Everton/Liverpool in the next couple years and they’ll be jostling with Arsenal/Chelsea/City/United in the forseeable future…

@foxinthebox. I guess only time will tell but I would imagine the Hammers will pick up injuries and fatigue as the season wears on.
