The irony here is that Chelsea are receiving a transfer ban for signing youngsters they have no intention of playing. lol
1. CFC are going to need to spend big and buy well in 1 or 2 windows
2. Or place a lot of faith in youngsters/loaneesWe’ve haven’t been particularly good at either recently if at all.
February 22, 2019 at 3:11 pm #1728767BlueLion, cheer up mate! me too supporting Chelsea since early 90’s. The club may have violated rules, so it’s just the consequences that there’s punishment. And as I said: Atletico and Barca got transfer ban too in the past and it did not seem to affect them as much. What we need to do is to address correctly our situation and to start preparing our team for the next season. And hoping we can deliver UCL spot while doing all those 😉
Those I think should not be extended: Pedro (with CHO and RLC rising), David Luiz (I wanted him to stay TBH awhile ago, but now I think it’s better to pass the baton to Christensen or Ampadu). I also think that we don’t really need Kovacic, he doesn’t add too much values while blocking the development of Barkley, RLC, Ampadu and probably Mason Mount later.
Those I think should be extended: Giroud (with Higuain’s future with us uncertain, especially post-Sarri), Cahill (we need an English leader and who else?).
Those who should be recalled from loan: Abraham and Mason Mount
February 22, 2019 at 3:39 pm #1728779Guys – some of us have seen much worse but as always, the Club will survive
Great comment Bort about the irony of the situation – spot on
BL – I actually would have expected Chelsea to consider a 1 year deal for Giroud and one of Pedro or Willian anyway as we cannot change the whole squad overnight. Even today, Sarri has stated for Hudson Odoi to play we must lose a winger
Don’t think there is any need for panic as we are appealing along with the FA so they are also deemed to be culpable in any wrong doing as well. If we lose and then go to arbitration this could take a couple of windows before we actually know the final outcome
Always good to plan ahead and as a Club we have known about this for a while anyway, but at the moment we have more important matters such as a cup final and the future of our current manager to focus on. KTBFFH
February 22, 2019 at 4:03 pm #1728787Am I the only one who finds the very idea of FIFA, possibly the most bent/corrupt of organisations handing out bans and fines wrong on every level ??
February 22, 2019 at 5:03 pm #1728796Haha Shiney, great shout mate!
Good to hear from you. Hope all is good in your world.
February 22, 2019 at 5:51 pm #1728798A lot of truth in that Shiney always nice to see you on here.
February 23, 2019 at 1:43 am #1728851Have a listen to this dude who tries to sound like John Cleese. Interesting and what most are thinking I believe.
February 23, 2019 at 6:37 am #1728854Perfect assessment from Chelsea blog above. Agree with everything he says but would like to add that Sarri has to go quickly before he inflicts more damage and consequently it all becomes more difficult to repair by whoever comes in, also feel that the brilliant youngsters if we do have them can hit the ground running. So many have in the past have done that from the age of 18 and in rarer cases even younger. A mixture of our very best young players coupled with the experienced players who are still able to perform should do the trick.
February 23, 2019 at 11:09 am #1728900I remember when effectively we had a transfer ban every season as we had no money! Not that it affected us too much as we spent some years in division 2, nearly went down to division 3 and would go up and down like a yo-yo!
And we think we have problems now.February 23, 2019 at 1:08 pm #1728928Very true Gib.
February 25, 2019 at 8:56 pm #1729746From TT, Hazard may sign Chelsea extension as transfer ban looming. If true, transfer ban would do us favour!
Bizarre report now claims Eden Hazard will sign new Chelsea deal
February 25, 2019 at 11:41 pm #1729760Griezman refused a transfer opportunity to United and signed a new contract with Atletico for the same reason Aindro. Let’s hope it’s true and something good comes from the ban.😊
February 26, 2019 at 7:56 am #1729793GIB – remember those days vividly and having to donate into buckets every match day and on the away trains (go away with Greenaway)….!! KTBFFH
February 26, 2019 at 7:58 am #1729794Also read the article regarding Hazard staying and he will give up his lifelong ambition out of loyalty to the Club. Don’t think I would believe that storyline in a film but equally would love it to be true
There is no doubt that Hazard and his family are very settled in London and he clearly has an affinity for the Club. Is it as strong as the article would have us believe? Truly hope so….!! KTBFFH
February 26, 2019 at 9:03 am #1729812Proof of the pudding is Hazard signing a new contract until that happens it’s pure speculation.
February 26, 2019 at 11:21 am #1729869I think that with Eden the decision between Chelsea and Real has always been a difficult one. As a person he has to balance many factors both personal and professional, and there are good reasons to decide for either option.
As such I suspect (as I’ve said before on these pages) that despite his public declaration that he knows what he’s going to do, he’s still open being influenced by those various other factors.
February 26, 2019 at 12:06 pm #1729896Ash – make you right but I still firmly believe that so long as Chelsea get CL football then we have a better than 50% chance of keeping him. KTBFFH
February 26, 2019 at 1:07 pm #17299191905, Zigger zagger Zigger zagger oi oi oi. What a character Mick was. Chelsea flowed through his blood.
February 26, 2019 at 5:11 pm #1730003I used to sit quite close to him in the old benches and he was one loud bugger that’s for sure….!! KTBFFH
March 3, 2019 at 7:55 am #1731413Statements from FIFA suggest they are trying to prevent Chelsea’s right of appeal to the transfer ban which could prevent Chelsea operating in the Summer transfer market.
Can’t see that one sticking legally imo and it would turn into an even longer appeal process as Chelsea would almost certainly appeal to CAS their right to appeal to FIFA and we would then have 3 appeals instead of two.
