As per usual the main transfer talk is about those players who are possibly going ie Townsend, PVA, Zaha rather than any players that are likely to sign for us. Clearly we haven’t learned a jot from previous failures !!! We cant afford a start like last season !!!June 18, 2018 at 12:29 pm #1648714
Talks with Antonio and Wilshere. 2 players who suffer with injuries. Judging by our injury record last year they would fit in nicely. Just hope we are saving all our money for Cheek.June 22, 2018 at 9:44 am #1649884
Punch – I hear what you are saying… Though Wiltshire played 38 games last season, sadly injuries are part of a footballers career. We had a bucket of them last season, these were not injuries from being injury prone, our players were hurt by the opposition in almost every case.
I see speculation on Townsend, I’m on the fence on this one.. on one hand he had a good season, played every game and worked hard, on the other hand, he’s slow and can be picked off when defenders know how to stop him cutting in… So, if he stays I’m happy, if he’s sold for 20m plus to acquire speed on the flanks I will totally understand…
I am also so so on Benteke, because I know he’s better than what we saw last season and I’d so love him to turn it around, but also equally ware that 20-30 mil can fund new striking options…June 23, 2018 at 12:20 pm #1650178
nine nine nineModerator
Sorry lads I think you can forget RLC firstly because I think he will be given his head at Chelsea this coming season to show what he can do at Chelsea playing regularly and secondly because even if RLC was sold it would be for a lot more than £25m and with no disrespect intended a number of big club’s would be interested in buying him too.July 2, 2018 at 8:12 pm #1652717
Nine Nine Nine… appreciate the input, not buying it myself.July 2, 2018 at 8:15 pm #1652722
So.. a month to go, just a keeper over the line, Wardy signs a new deal and a £2.5m midfielder where we have made a bid… Gonna need to see the action pretty damn quick as we have a tight window now..
As for Andros being sold for £18mil… Yeah, I’m good with that… I think you can buy similar for half the price.. so I’d take him gone to buy two or three more players… I am also hoping we have a few youngsters we can stick on the flanks… need some speed.July 3, 2018 at 6:30 am #1652751
According to other Crystal Palace supporter sites that I am part of we don’t need any more signings. Everyone is happy to keep what we have and Parish is not to be criticized for not spending money for he has spent already? Well maybe I am in the minority but we need more players and not ones who won’t get a game. Sakho and Cabaye are yet to re-sign RLC is an unknown quantity until after the Cup and Townsend is likely to move to Newcastle. We are 4 players short already. If you look at Roy’s past performances he is unlikely to play our youngsters so lets hope if Parish doesn’t buy any more players that we don’t have the same run of injuries as last season.July 4, 2018 at 8:45 pm #1653402
Do we not learn from previous mistakes??!!!! Why cant we sign anyone of any quality ?!! Ward , 2 more years, sorry but Wan-Bissaka needs to play at right back. Looks like Cabaye has gone . He couln’t last 90 minutes anymore , but still a squad player. no strikersin. Looks like townsend is going back to Newcastle. Still got Benteke.. not good enough. Going to start the new season without any strengthing it seems !!July 5, 2018 at 2:20 pm #1653638
I don’t think for one moment that we won’t add new players… We have two loan spaces to start so I am certain regardless of purchases we will at least see that used. We have a bid for a midfielder already… Wan Bissaka is like a new signing, so too with Wickham, so that would make 4 in effect.. If we sell Townsend I am certain it will buy a few more signings…. so my gut is at least 4 new additions, two purchases two loans.. that will certainly add to depth.. Daly might force his way into the squad that;s 5… and I reckon one or two more.. The Polish lad though bought in Jan will start to appear… I don’t think it’s looking that bad to be honest… Unlike Pardew I think Roy will have a 25 man squad unlike Pardew and that 25 man squad will not be made up of players capable of actually playing unlike Mutch, Benteke’s brother, etc etc…. I have absolute faith this time round, even if the purchases are more young and hungry rather than tried and testedJuly 9, 2018 at 6:26 am #1654386
I just hope that we don’t get hit by injuries like last season. I realise our first option is to re-sign all our players hence, lack of movement on the recruitment front but having lost Cabaye with possibly Sako and RLC we need 3 decent replacements. Somehow I doubt this will happen soon as we don’t seem to move that quick when it comes to signings.July 9, 2018 at 4:13 pm #1654580
I was looking forward to this year but it is Zaha wanting out and nothing coming in. Still say Freedman cannot be up to it.July 9, 2018 at 7:02 pm #1654604
So.. Delaney has gone, Chungy has gone, Cabaye has gone and it appears Barkary Sako has gone also… He hasn’t shown up in the pre-season squad, so that could be quite telling… The two loan signings also gone, so we are 6 players down just to break even… That’s a lot of players with less than 5 weeks to sign them… On a plus a whole bunch of youngsters are going on the tour, just surprised Daly isn’t one of them…
I am not sold on Zaha leaving… Ona plus note, England have not really used Loftus Cheek in world cup thus far… that could go in our favour for a loan or perm signing.
I honestly couldn’t say if we have anything up our sleeve in terms of new signings because I haven’t seen anything that concrete in the press other than the very cheap Turkish lad…July 9, 2018 at 9:18 pm #1654658
Sadly its same old , same old Palace. Clearly we dont learn. Cabaye gone. Unless we sign RLC and keep Zaha then we are not goin got hack it next season. Only 4 weeks to go and all we have done is lost players and given Ward 2 more years when win-Bissaka is the better option at right back!! Words fail me !!
