I think the word that sums up the Baggies this season is unconvincing. To start with this was understandable as we were playing a system that was alien to many of our players and trying to make footballers of all our defenders with very limited success. Our only really convincing performance other than the second-half against QPR and Reading was Leeds where we played them off the park. I thought this was the road to Damascus game, when the penny finally dropped and we would now take the league by storm. But again it was a false dawn. Our defence has started giving away gift goals and our attacks are sporadic and unpredictable. And now Barnes has left the essential element of creativity is missing too. So where should we go from here? Well, the one success is Harper and I feel that DM should be playing both Harper and Field regularly as part of our midfield. And please give Leko more game time.
PS Burke seems to be playing regularly for Celtic and is doing a useful job.
