I don’t like it that they sacked their manager just before meeting us. It can give them motivation. But their motor Neves is suspended. I would expect that we win this match. I don’t believe we’ll win big like aainst Milan. For me this is a 1-0 or max 2-0 for us. Should we rest Thiago Silva? Will Aubameyang continue his scoring streak?
I would give Mount some rest. Would bench Havertz too.
My team: Kepa – Chalobah, Silva, Koulibaly – James, Kovacic, RLC, Chilwell – Gallagher, Aubameyang, SterlingOctober 7, 2022 at 7:35 pm #2141337Neto also out with an ankle injury which sadly forces him to miss the World Cup too. Wolves play nice football but struggle to score goals hopefully we can extend our winning run.
We might well see the return of Diego at some point.
October 7, 2022 at 10:22 pm #2141355Historically, we tend to struggle against teams that are struggling. in Wolves’ case, we struggle against them no matter which form they are in, and who said they cannot pull a rabbit out of the hat and surprise us tomorrow if we are not careful? They maybe struggling to score goals right now, but they have one of the finest strikers that this club has ever had. The fact that they cannot score goals or are struggling to score isn’t a foregone conclusion that we will win.
So far, we have played two contrasting games and seen two contrasting performances, In the Palace game, they denied us spaces and we struggled, and I expect similar tactics from Wolves, but against Milan who allowed us spaces, we excelled. So, our problem lies in unlocking tight defences as we don’t have someone like KDB at City. Since we sold Hazard, we struggled to unlock teams that defend deeper and deny us spaces.
We have Ziyech who has a very good passing range and can do that job, but it seems that our current management favours physicality and energy over creativity and you can’t expect any different result. Hope I’m wrong and we came up with all three points
October 8, 2022 at 4:48 am #2141365Should be a good match. I don’t look to much into history when you have a new owner, new manager and players looking like they want to impress.
Can only see one result in this and that is a home win. Too good for Wolves. This is a new horizon and a very good manager with positive attacking ambitions. Players being played to their strengths and positive vibes up front with Sterling and Auba plus Mount showing what he can do. Milan caught me by surprise re our players’ confidence, positivity and creativity which has been missing this season. Palace was a step up and more so Milan. Expecting a 3-0 win here.
October 8, 2022 at 6:22 am #2141367I don’t know what the team should be, I’m not sure if Potter selects the team based on his current perceived best 11 or if his going to rotate which he will have too at some point, Kepa – Chalobah, Silva, Koulibaly – James, Kovacic, RLC, Chilwell – Gallagher, Mount, Sterling. Aubameyung can come on later in the game or alternatively play a flat back 4 and start him with the above. Fullbacks have been overlapping since I first saw the game so it should be no problem as long as they track back in time.
October 8, 2022 at 8:34 am #2141378Looks like Costa will start along with Traore who is very quick both will need careful watching but Costa is not the player we knew at Chelsea.
It will be good to continue the winning run but it won’t be easy Wolves might be struggling to score goals only 3 in total this season but they are well organised defensively only 9 goals conceded in the PL the same as Man City and they are stuffed full of good quality Portuguese players that can play a bit too.🤞🤞🤞
October 8, 2022 at 9:34 am #2141389We all wanted a new manager so let’s get behind Potter and the team, on top of that his a local English boy. Let’s stop this petty bickering amongst ourselves. Up dem mighty Blues.
October 8, 2022 at 9:50 am #2141392Well said Moos.

K HavertzOctober 8, 2022 at 2:18 pm #2141444A lot of changes from Milan game, looks like back 4 with azpi RB and Cucurella LB and will be interesting to see our shape on and off the ball. 3 games 3 systems so far let’s see if it’s 4 for 4 today!
The right hand side of the back 4 terrifies me, chalobah and azpi 🙏
We do need to rotate though so while the team concerns me I think it’s right to rotate.
Let’s hope havertz and pulisic step up today 🤞
October 8, 2022 at 2:28 pm #2141448Im all for rotation as we have a lot of players who are more or less on par and they all need game time, however I’m not too sure about 7 changes, maybe should have started either Aubameyung or Sterling upfront. Let’s see and hope. Home game so we want 3 points.
October 8, 2022 at 3:05 pm #2141458Today’s team was obviously selected with the Milan game in mind as well as with 11 games to come between now and the 12th November. Fingers crossed its strong enough.🤞
October 8, 2022 at 3:19 pm #2141463Well it’s not a 4th different system for the 4th game, it looks to be the same system as the first game against salzburg with left back staying back to make back 3 on the ball with right back advanced providing width on right and the winger providing width on the left. In defence we have a back 4.
October 8, 2022 at 3:29 pm #2141465Hopeless those 3 upfront, think he does need to bring on Aubameyang or Sterling as soon as possible. We not going to keep getting so many chances as the game wears on.
October 8, 2022 at 3:48 pm #2141468That’s what I say we need to start with a proper striker, your false no. 9s are always going to miss most of those chances. Not saying they want score but a proper finisher say Aubameyung, Sterling or Broja would finish better. I see that change happening at half time unless they score.
October 8, 2022 at 3:50 pm #2141470Haha they scored as I pressed submit, takes some pressure of all of us.
October 8, 2022 at 3:54 pm #2141472Great first half, can’t believe how cohesive we are considering the changes. No square pegs in round holes and everyone knows what their role is.
Certainly still need to be more decisive in final third but very pleased with first 45 mins.
Azpi on a yellow getting caught on break but going forward he has been great. Mount on it again and did fantastic to create the goal for havertz who guided his header wonderfully.
October 8, 2022 at 3:59 pm #2141474Now let’s keep the lead cause while they not attacking much every time they do attack you can sense the apprehension. I’m really feeling nervous.
October 8, 2022 at 4:03 pm #2141475Yes Blaze that’s right mate we are certainly a little vulnerable on the break and can’t afford to concede. If wolves are forced to chase in last 30 mins we may be able to take the game away from them with our subs. Please no silly goals 🤞
October 8, 2022 at 4:04 pm #2141476Looking good so far. Pulisic unlucky not to score. We need to keep playing with pacem and our defense need to be fully concentrated on deadballs
