As frustrated, dissapointed and upset I am at Englands pathetic efforts and subsequent elimination from euro 2016, I am even more upset at the success of wales. Not because I’m an English man who doesn’t want the home nations to succeed because I do. But Wales success means that Chris colemans job is perfectly safe and there is no chance of Wales lining up Tony Pulis for the Role.

Oh and who knew… James Chester is a good centre half!

I will be surprised if Chester is still on our books come the new season. He’s shown too much ability to be in our squad.

Les I think a lot on here and at the Hawthorns knew about Chester’s ability at CH. He was Hull’s player of the season before we bought him. Playing him at RB or LB is a total waste, he should be alongside Jonny Evans when McA retires. We shouldn’t be looking to sell him.

Northwich i agree with you.IMO Evans and Chester should be our center halfs this season, but i am afraid TP will have Chester as back up for our full backs, but maybe, maybe he have seen Chester playing very well for Wales.IMO McAley and Olsson is to old and they should only be subs this season.Norway baggie

Completely agree we should be looking to move forward with a chester/evens pairing which could be there for years!

I agree that Chester is a central, stay-at-home defender. A good tackler, he does look nervous on the ball, though. Slotting him into the middle of Albion’s defence with Evans makes sense….what we now need are young/speedy wingbacks. Incidentally…did you see Jara (still!) playing for Chile in their win over Argentina in the Copa America?

I’m hopeful that lots of positive things are about to happen. For you lot this may mean TP falling down a Welsh mineshaft, but, whatever transpires, we have reached a pivotal moment in the progress of our dear team.

Jara was playing in the Bundesliga until Xmas when he returned to Chile for personal reasons. He was played as a wing back or right midfielder and the few times I saw him had a good game.
