Solid performance from Liverpool, spurs had no chance to play. If it hadn’t been such sloppy finishing it could have ended up with a four or five goal margin.
Milner was immense. He seems to thrive on playing for a big club.
September 15, 2018 at 11:31 pm #1676048Guess we will know where we stand in two weeks time. I agree that City and LFC are the 2 title favourites so far. Even though we’ll be at the Bridge, Liverpool will rightly be favourites. However our little Belgium genius could put a spanner in the works. He’s on fire at the moment.
September 16, 2018 at 9:46 am #1676084Liverpools season will go pear shaped when Henderson gets back in the side.
September 16, 2018 at 12:11 pm #1676129He won’t play as much once Fabinho gets up to speed, mate.
September 16, 2018 at 12:41 pm #1676138True forgot you have him, Milner has been immense, he shouldn’t be dropped.
September 16, 2018 at 3:33 pm #1676204A few of the Liverpool lads have come out of the block. Mane and Firminho seem to have the indication that they will have a wonderful season. Also our star man is threatening to cross the borders this season. But an injury to him, and i can’t see where the goals will arrive. That is my biggest concern. In the past we had Costa to compensate for his loss. I don’t think neither Morata nor Giroud will be able to score regularly. Ok some may say our defence is shaky. But we have the solution right there in our squad.
September 16, 2018 at 4:16 pm #1676213I don’t think Chelsea are a title contender the season despite the great start it’s all about trying to reclaim a CL place for Chelsea this season.
I’m not sure any of the big Club’s are anywhere near on top form.
I think there’s more to come from them all yet and we’re in for an interesting season I still think the title will be between City and Liverpool and De Bruyne coming back for City could be like a new £200m signing for City.
Still think City are favourites purely because as the games come thick and fast City have the deeper squad, but if City get to the latter stages of the CL with Liverpool close to them in the PL and City take their eye off the ball in the PL in their desire to win the CL anything could happen I certainly wouldn’t rule Liverpool out. Same in the race for the top 4 there’s 33 games to go and whilst City and Liverpool look the stand out teams for the title Chelsea are in a battle with United, Spurs and Arsenal for a top 4 place and it won’t be easy for any of the four to achieve.
September 17, 2018 at 7:20 am #1676269nice win for the hammers at last away at everton, good to see
September 17, 2018 at 9:51 pm #1676651The EPL never fails to deliver Southampton 2 up with a few minutes to go ends 2-2 with Brighton plus a couple of very near goals after that.
September 17, 2018 at 9:53 pm #1676654Actually it was 2-1 after 65 minutes not much skill in the game but plenty of intense excitement.
September 17, 2018 at 9:55 pm #1676656Why can Chelsea not challenge nine? Sarri has only the defence to tweak and you will be up there. He will sort it, I’ve been impressed with him and the way Hazard has started he could take you to the title on his own. You’re in the mix.
September 17, 2018 at 9:57 pm #1676658Yes stevo, good to see the bitters come down to earth.
September 18, 2018 at 6:45 am #1676689was thinking more about the hammers getting a bit of good news for once mate! 🙂
September 18, 2018 at 8:07 am #1676709Chelsea could challenge but first they need points against the top teams. We had a favorable run of fixtures to start off this season.
September 18, 2018 at 8:24 am #1676711Shanksy, I’m both delighted and suprised with our start but I’m not getting carried away with it 3 of our 5 wins have come v teams currently in the bottom 4 and there are much bigger tests to come.
Chelsea are still two players short of a credible title challenge imo, a top quality striker and a dominant Centre Back but you’re right Hazard is playing at another level.
First objective for Chelsea has to be reclaiming a CL place this season but I wouldn’t rule anything out stranger things have happened.
Any team who can finish ahead of this City team would be worthy winners imo it will be a hell of a task to do so but it’s not totally impossible and I think Liverpool are still City’s most likely challenger and I’ve been most impressed by the much greater defensive qualities of Liverpool now following the signings of Alisson and Van Dijk. Cheers 999
September 18, 2018 at 10:03 am #1676754Nine – The only reason I can see that would stop Chelsea challanging is the EL, so many teams struggle with the Thursday / Sunday games, but if you can cope with that, and I see no reason why not then I think you will be right up there, Jorginho looks one hell of a player.
It’s interesting that other fans are talking up Liverpool for a title challenge, but we have been bitten so often no Liverpool fans will believe it until April at the earliest. To be fair when I was young the first league table wasn’t published until after the 6th game so we are not even at that point yet, it is a bit premature to be talking title challenges.
September 18, 2018 at 10:29 am #1676779Course it’s too early to talk of title challenges and whatnot but taking my Mancunian tinted spectacles off for thirty seconds or so…I reckon this team has a bit of substance to it with a manager who has got the players thinking they could walk on water if they try hard enough. I’m worried.
Right, glasses back on…just wait till it all goes tits up you scouse cockroaches.
September 18, 2018 at 4:23 pm #1676977the first few games mean nothing at all, especially I think this season it has an air of surprises floating about. Luck also plays a big part.
September 18, 2018 at 4:39 pm #1676982Hahahahahahahahaha brilliant tommy. You’re not as worried as a certain cockroach we both know.
September 18, 2018 at 4:40 pm #1676983BTW tommy, you’re talking about Bournemouth right?
