A Mo Salah would be ideal but then , who knows, like others, he’d possibly come to the Bridge a prolific goal scorer and for whatever reason become a pale version of his former self. It’s clearly happened to others that we had high expectations of and that goes way back to the Chris Sutton and Robert Fleck days if not before.

We need to stay as close to Liverpool and City as we can because, you never know, they may suffer injuries to key players for a substantial period and we can take advantage of that at the tail end of the season if we are back at the peak of our powers with some key players back and well rested.

Liverpool will stay in the title race as long as they avoid injuries to key players one to eleven they are strong, injuries to the likes of Salah,Mane and VVD etc I think Liverpool would struggle to cope with.

City have the best quality squad and the best depth to cope with injuries in respect of us I agree with Lucky past 12/13 players over a prolonged period of time we will struggle which is what’s happening right now.

I think the current table probably reflects how the top 3 will eventually finish.

100% 999 could not agree more with you and Lucky. My focal point with the whole thing is not to slaughter individual players when the circumstances are a major factor in why errors have suddenly crept into our game.

Like I said Nine, individual mistakes are costing us!…why didn’t Mendy just hoof the ball into row Z straight away instead of him thinking he has the dribbling skills of ex Man.U keeper Fabien Barthez?.And how many times will Mendy be horribly out of position for the ball to whizz passed him at his near post like what happened for West Ham’s winner?.Getting increasingly frustrated by Gorginho’s wishy-washy back-passing in dangerous areas now!.Where is the form that made him a recent Ballon d’or candidate?,I’m sorry but I can’t see any traces of it when the team is up shit creak and need him to perform. We were flying before the injuries but even then you could see teams preparing to put out the spoilers to disrupt our stride where we would have to dig really deep to grind out a result,I knew we wouldn’t always get it our own way!

Luckydestiny: Hazard? Hell yes!! None of our current forwards is fit lo lace his boots. He’s 31, injury prone, but if it’s down to me: I would take this gamble. Thiago Silva is 37, CR7 is 36. I was always against signing old players but Thiago Silva changed completely my opinion.

Liverpool will lose Salah & Mane for CAN. Let’s see

He’s human. Probably should have hoofed it but then probably Jorginho shouldn’t have put him in that position in the first place and I agree that not just he but they all pass backwards too often when there are options available in the sideways or forward direction that would avoid any risk and yes Jorginho has a habit of doing it quite regularly and I hate it. Our issues go far deeper than one or two errors by individual players though and there’s no doubt our cohesion has been disrupted by multiple injuries to key players, and all at once, but anyway we are all entitled to an opinion. Mendy will do me any day of the week as our first keeper.

Pity we play Liverpool January 3rd and the CAN starts a week later. Those two would have been a welcome omission. Still I’d rather beat the best and leave them with no room for an excuse.

I support Chelsea and Italy along with England but for some reason never been a fan of Jorginho probably cause of his style of play, Noone saying Mendy is not our best keeper and one of the best in the world, we lucky to have him but that constant messing around with his passing has cost us besides all those itchy backside moments we have to endure, I’m just hoping he cuts it out of his game. Hazard I’m not sure if his constantly injured cannot be cause his playing in a different country. Some players when they hit 30 become injury prone . Hope not Kante cause his our biggest miss by far and of course a more prolific striker, hope Lukaku comes right.

Very true Mtal and I suspect he’s asked himself that too.😊

A fair summary from Tuchel: “Edouard Mendy is going through a very difficult period. I’m not sure exactly why, but he seems to have lost some confidence. Okay, his decision making wasn’t on top today (Saturday) on the opening goal, but we also put him in a very sticky situation. He could have saved the day but he didn’t, ”explains the Blues manager.

Aindro, I was adamant I didn’t want hazard back but it’s funny how opinions can vary with circumstance, at 21m I think I would take it.

Anybody see the chickies beat up Arsenal in the FA Cup? Maybe the boys could get a few lessons from the likes of Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby on finishing. In the commentator’s word Kerr’s 2nd was a thing of beauty 🙂

Mendy isn’t exactly brilliant with his feet, but that Jorginho backpass was ridiculous. I believe it was the 4th time he did that in this season so far. Other than that, it was a good rnyrtyaining game that any neutral would love to see. Hope that Havertz isn’t badly injured

Let us not forget that Jorginho is also carrying a hip injury which he has been playing with for weeks now according to Tuchel. Fair play to him for showing that level of commitment to the team.

As for Hazard, i don’t want him anywhere near our team. Not only he is 31 years old, he has also been injury prone for two and half years. So it’s not the form issue, we are also dealing with chronic fitness issue.

Good point about Jorginho YB but hand on heart that doesn’t absolve him of the pass back.

YB, At the right price £21m? And providing Hazard passes a stringent medical I think Hazard would be worth taking a punt on look at Silva’s performances at 37.

Be Tommy’s call though so no point in any of us getting too excited about it until it’s happening or not as the case may be.

    Nine,

I’m not only talking about the age factor. the two cases were different. while Silva was 35 at the time we signed him, his fitness record has been outstanding compared to the Hazard of today. Sadly Hazard has fallen from the top of the footballing mountain. he has been injury-prone, and when he was fit, he couldn’t demonstrate the form he has shown at Chelsea. Personally, I would be happy if Real Madrid could give him to us on loan with the view of a £21m transfer in the summer.
