Posted a bit early but wanted to move on from that mess yesterday. No shots of target in 90 minutes. Ouch.

West Ham are our visitors, a team we usually do well against. Last season we thumped ’em
4-0 with goals from Mo, Mane(2) and Sturridge (a minute after coming on). Starting line-up that day: Alisson, Trent, van Dijk, Gomez, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Keita, Firmino, Mane and Salah.

I can see the starting XI on Monday not too far from that although I would like to see maybe Matip coming in to go Joe a break for a game and maybe Minamino for Mo (he was disappointing yesterday and his 21st game this season without scoring). Not knocking him but wouldn’t mind Klopp showing that his starting spot isn’t guaranteed.

The ‘Moyes factor’ quickly wore off and they haven’t won in the league since New Year’s Day. Remember what he said upon his re-appointment? “That’s what I do. I win” he proclaimed. Well, they haven’t won in 6 games, losing 4 and drawing 2. Knob-end.

I expect that ‘winning’ run to continue because they’ll get beat against City and then we’ll do ’em Monday.

    3-0 I reckon and so thinks…..

Thanks Rob. They may not have won in 6, but hoping that they come to Anfield on a winning run (albeit of 1).

Time to take out our frustration on the Hammers.

Could be time to really freshen up the midfield, with 5 midfielders competing to start alongside Fabinho. I’d possibly go with Keita and Milner, if Klopp decides to give Gini a break.

We need to give then a good thrashing and get our momentum back on track

Is Fabinho a shoo-in though to start based on his form since he came back from injury? Maybe Klopp will use West Ham at home as a free hit to start him again in the hope that he can somehow play himself back in to some sort of justified contention. Also, with Henderson sidelined, I suppose we haven’t got another natural (single) #6 – apart from Chirivella – if Klopp goes for that formation. However, he could look at playing Milner and Gini as the double six/pivot which I think could work well against WHU.

I would start with Fabinho at No. 6

Spot on J C but we should still be doing much better missing that quality in the final third. Still plenty of time lest to get at least a draw if not win this.

As somebody who is ambivalent about Henderson, I completely agree JC, we are missing Henderson tonight. In fact, the best compliment I can give him is that I think we miss Henderson more than we do Fabinho because of his mobility and harassment he gives to other players.

You could have easily forgiven this team for taking their foot off the gas. A goal down, second half, against a resilient West Ham, knowing we don’t even need the points.

But wow. They still find the drive to produce a result.

    Another 3 points. Amazing.
