Just interested to peoples opinions on it. I gave up smoking 3 years ago and switched to vaping, I feel much healthier, and fitter, I think it has been a great development.

I’m an on and off smoker who is continually trying to quit and for the first time I’m genuinely considering vaping. I’m just worried it’ll be a bit like going to diet coke, I’ll always have that craving for the really thing lol

How do you find them do you still crave the real thing and do you ever have slips were you light up a real one?

Cost wise how much does it set you back monthly? Some people telling me about £30 for them.

From what I understand they don’t have enough research to really highlight the pros and cons of vaping, just that it isn’t smoking and is likely a healthier alternative, but even that isn’t proven.

I use to smoke cigs for around 5 years, then quit for years. But went on and off them, been vaping for a year, so much better. I have shisha now and again, so I like the various flavours, I had a benson and hedges gold 3 m9nths after I started vaping, it didn’t feel as strong as it use to. Good thing is that you don’t get the smell of cigs, and can vape anywhere.

Lacks the pleasure factor for me so if I do pack it in I will be going cold turkey and quit all together. Can’t imagine sitting down to a nice coffee in the morning, opening the papers and having a good old vape.

They are an American firm, shops all over England. They have liquids which are various ratios, so it’s like having a cig.

Without the fire and the smoke and smelly stale breath it just doesn’t appeal. If I only wanted the nicotine intake I reckon I could do it but I just love smoking, always have and sadly probably always will.

This is just my opinion, having never been a smoker I never saw the attraction in paying a company to give yourself cancer. As for vaping, whenever I see anyone doing that, the word pretentious springs to mind! Just saying.

I’ve been vaping about 15 months, haven’t touched a cigarette since. The NHS will tell you they believe it’s at least 90% safer than smoking. Devon mate I’m afraid you’re wide of the mark, all the vapers I know do it because they like nicotine but don’t fancy cancer that much!

Do you guys get the minty ciggies over there?

I hadn’t smoked in 17 years and went back on them last year. Trying to quit months now. Furious with myself.

    Going cold turkey from tomorrow.

They make me feel like shite. That first one in the morning is so special though

As someone living in a region of the world where smoking is still socially acceptable and widespread (China and Throughout SE Asia) i am all in favour of vaping rather than smoking as the second hand effects are considerably reduced. Nothing worse than sitting al-fresco eating dinner with kids and being surrounded suddenly by chain smokers, vap away though chaps 🙂

Bizarrely, it vaping is illegal in Singapore, and nicorette patches, gum etc need to be purchased via an “interview” with a pharmacist. However, ciggies available 24:7, wonder which one brings in the most tax revenue…

Its illegal here in Thailand also.

I dont know anything about vaping but it seems to me that its just a smokescreen. Do vapers inhale?

I’m in a Totally Wicked vape shop on your recommendation mufc. Preston branch. It’s like Amsterdam without the fun and mischief. First thing I’m doing when I leave is sparking up a ciggie. A proper one.

The first drag nearly blew your head off MUFC? That’s a pity.
Go on, be a devil, give it another try. Perhaps you’ll succeed next time.
    Fingers crossed.
