Pretty good I think , a lot better than I thought it would be. Also the signings look pretty good , some outstanding. They wont all work of course some may be a disaster but at least now we look to have a reasonable squad that could mount a challenge. Of course being Wolves it could all go wrong but it’s a start.August 31, 2016 at 6:42 pm #1196907
Watford, give me a pinch mate….reckon I’m dreaming!! I realise its early days and pretty much all of the players are yet to prove themselves so far but frankly I don’t think many could complain with the current way we are doing our business! I especially love that (for me) the most exciting signings are the ones that have come in on contract (Dadi, Saiss and….still can’t quite believe it Cavliero on a 5 year deal!!!;). Also happy to think that players like Texiera, John or Costa could end up being great but all will hopefully be playing for a long term Prem contract.
Happy days indeed, I know they still have to cut the mustard and not all will but if you’d have presented me with this list of 13 players last year and said we would get them all over the line I would have called you crazy!!
Only one that was left field for me was Stearman, don’t get me wrong I love the guy and was gutted when we sold him BUT that was from a VERY different club. I suppose I expected slightly higher aspirations considering the defence probs needed the most work. I wonder here if its to add some continuity as we still have an armband to fill, they seem to be digging the mythology angle and I don’t think anyone could say that guys not a TRUE wolf?!
But hey granted at this stage its nit picking as like I say its been a pretty good window so far….is there still time for one more striker on his way? Would be happy either way just weird cause that was the position that Zenga wanted but maybe they are thinking of sticking Ivan up there with Dadi to see how much havoc they can cause….better stop thinking on it I’m getting a nose bleed!! In Fosun we trust!! 🙂September 1, 2016 at 12:58 pm #1198944
I think the biggest challenge for Zenga is going to be integrating in effect two teams in the dressing room and keeping everyone motivated with game time. He has signalled that he will rotate so the Tuesday team will be much changed from the Saturday team but generally teams that go up usually use a limited number of players to ensure consistency. He has to square that particular circle.September 1, 2016 at 1:17 pm #1198977
Very true Watford, don’t get me wrong I’m not saying ‘next stop the Prem’ but I am saying that as we sit here today no one can say that Fosun aren’t taking this seriously or that they aren’t giving promotion a serious crack (accusations often thrown at the last regime).
Will be interesting how he will keep everyone happy cause as you look at that squad list you realise (realistically) that he simply can’t keep everyone happy. That said loans are easy enough to cancel if they aren’t working out, gonna be interesting though cause at the moment Walter is still riding the wave. Sooner or later there will be a bad run (everyone has one) and THEN when the chips are down we will really see who he thinks is now our best eleven.
In the mean time I am gonna do my darnedest to enjoy the ride, stupid international break….just wanna see a match now! 😉September 14, 2016 at 12:28 pm #1217550
Rubbish!September 18, 2016 at 10:25 pm #1226685
Informative as ever Vinni?! Care to elaborate or have you literally just become like some elderly Paul Whitehouse character, sat in the corner calling out random insults? From the date I’m gonna guess it was the Barnsley result? If so I sincerely hope to see another post after yesterdays result saying simply….
Who my kidding you only comment when things aren’t to your liking, rarely when things are going well
