I know a lot of people will naturally say the defense or getting a winger(something we’ve needed since forever),but for me when I look at this midfield it suddenly seems so weak.
And IMO Midfield is the most important position,it’s the transition between Defense and attack.Under wenger if you notice,we fell short in many departments but he always had a strong midfield available to him.

Right now,i have no confidence in our midfield. With the unexplainable departure of Rambo,we’re left with Torreira,Xhaka and an 18 year old Guendozi. That’s by far the weakest midfield if we were to compare to our rivals. We need a playmaker, and we need someone who can maybe be the engine of the team.
It’s easy, but this club will ignore it yet again.Just two players I can think of that will directly imporve us are –
1_Dani Parejo – Valencia need to raise money, and for me this player is absolute class. He might be a little expensive, but if we play it right we can get him on the cheap. He’s a quality player.
2.Docoure – Surely it must be time to leave watford? He’s another player I rate a lot,and he’s already mentioned moving to Arsenal would be a dream.Go for him.

Even if we aren’t talking about a mass overhaul(which is not going to happen under this current ownership),we still need a good 4-5 players to just compete for the top 4 next season.

I don’t know if Koscielny will stay but he seems knackered and we need a replacement for him too.Ideally,we need to sign 2 defenders,2 midfielders and 2 wingers to even be worthy of comparing our squad with that of our rivals.Obviously,I don’t mind a few departures but a big summer needed.Let’s wait and watch us get dissapointed again though…

Right back, centre mid and a winger as absolute min. Obviously quality wise we could do with a centre half and most of the other positions could be improved. I think part of this will depend on who we keep and who he fancies.

In midfield we also have AMN, callum chambers and ESW will be back and we have Elneny will be back but not sure I fancy any of them I think we need a box to box who has a goal or two in them.

Up front Reiss Nelson is an option as a winger but don’t think he is ready yet. I don’t know of the squad players he fancies and I think that is what he will base his buys on also cant see us getting any money or offers for any of our squad apart from Aube and Laca and cant see selling one of them unless we get silly money.

I haven’t really heard of any of these players that we are being linked with which really worries me considering the bizarre recruitment set up we have. If Mislantat was still at the helm I’d be fine with unknowns coming in. Without him it all seems a bit worrying. BTW, I also wonder if we do have more than we say we have in the transfer kitty.

Rumours increasing that Auba is heading for China.

If we get £100m I would take it.

i would hate to loze abau but for a decent amount (more than £100m for me) i would also take it, said before and will say again, defense defense defense….

we need TWO TOP CB’s and id say a RB and LB too…the whole lot, none of what we have are good enough, ship out some deadwood and oldies and replace, focus on that

we can and do score but we dont keep many clean sheets at all and as shown in the EL final we are WEAK, soon as one goes in 3 go in!

if we have enough then a MF and RW too….

Agree Steve the only reason for Auba leaving would be if he has declined to sign an extension since he only have 2 years left.

We should get a lot for him if done right and above £100 is a minimum

I get why you guys would be contemplating whether it would be worth the money to sell Auba but personally i’d hate to lose him. He’s arguably been our best player last season(bar a few decisive moments). When was the last time we had a striker score 20+ goals in the league?Rvp?

This is what frustrates me about this club. You can’t make up for other things by selling our best players.Every season we seem to be losing some top and best players of the club. That’s why we go backwards. As much as i hate to say it,you look at spuds even if they’re not signing new players they’re able to keep their best ones and hence they are in and around. And again, had we kept Ramsey. Then maybe we just needed another midfielder(not necessarily world class). But now, considering that our budget is most likely 40m what we’re forced to sell our best players? No thank you.Get rid of players like Chambers,Holding,Mustafi who we might get money for.Maybe AMN.

There’s something seriously wrong behind the scenes at the club. And we as fans just can’t say ok this is the position so what do we do now?Nothing seems to be imporving. If we had good transfer negotiators we can actually raise funds by selling unimportant players but we don’t and that’s a big issue.

I get what you are saying about Auba but again if the guy wont sign an extension now we will have a new Ramsey/Sanchez situation next summer. If we reach that stage again you will be on their back for that as well.

Quite simple its time for hardball which should have been done with Ozil. If you wont commit f**k off. I dont care if its Auba he needs to commit if not he cant stay because we cant loose more money.

But yes id rather sell the crap first and maybe show Auba that we want to improve.

Muffler – Don’t think we can afford to lose our best players anymore.Enough is enough. How many times must we do this?I mean to be honest how many are even worth it in this squad.Auba,Lacazette?I get what you’re saying about cashing in on him before it’s too late. But the real question to be asked is why has he be signed only on a 3 year contract.Secondly, why would he want to leave.Another star player wanting to leave a sinking ship?If thats the case I’d do more of an analysis on the club and it’s ambition(lack of).why do our best players still want to leave?

I also just recently saw that he apparently gets a 3.75m bonus on top of the 200k a week wages to simply complete a season at Arsenal. So we’re paying him 278k per week.Don’t get me wrong if there’s one player in the squad I don’t want to argue wages over it’d probably be Auba. But just to complete a season? How about these absolute twats put in a clause of maybe achieving a 20 goals+ in the PL only then would he get the 3.75m bonus.I really am gobsmacked as to how this club functions.

To be fair if he wont sign a contract extension then that’s different from just selling him for the money. If its just for the money I would say forget it as we are not good enough as is and selling our best players is suicide especially if we don’t have a plan and I am 100% convinced we don’t have one!

100 million would not guarantee the top scorer in the league or a Van Dyke!
I am always sceptical re wages as they can never be 100% verified and I feel its irrelevant as I don’t really care as the club thought they could afford it so they paid it its not the player or agents fault they get more than they are worth its the club.
