Hello all villa fans…I am just curious why Remi Garde is getting away so lightly from you guys? There has been no improvement at all in fact Villa have actually got worse yet Garde sits in dugout and doesn’t seem to have a clue and his press conferences are just a joke.Has the guy no fight in him?Is he just tactically clueless? You are going down and I can guarantee this fool is not the guy to bring Villa back up again.I am not on here to be nasty,I have nothing but admiration for your proud club and great fans but as an outsider I just can’t fathom what Garde is up to or why Villa board don’t act?it’s like they just accepted Villa are going down months ago and couldn’t care less.

well we have not actually been getting worse, our points per game ratio is better under Garde than Sherwood.. so shows how bad Sherwood was doing

You say your not here to be nasty but say things like ‘this fool’ do you know the guy?

We have had a couple of shocking games but the usual patern every match is that we play ok, put in some effort, try to play good football then make a calamitous mistake!
Once we have conceded we tend to lose the plot for a while , lose all confidence and tend to let more goals in.. we then revert back to being organised again, but its always too little too late.. dont get me wrong we deserve to go down.. but all the post match analysis only ever focuses on the ‘losing the plot period’. Non Villa fans purely base their view on comments Alan Shearer, Graham Le Saux, Danny Murphy etc make after watching 5 mins of Villas worst period in a game.. pretty poor journalism..

Garde has not brought in a single player.. Mclaren for exampel spent £80mil

Norwich and Palace (teams we beat) have been worse than us over the past 3 montsh too, but no one is calling for their managers to be sacked.. so why Garde?

This is why Im not calling for Garde to be sacked.. cant speak for everyone else

I said before the Liverpool game Garde has lost the drive and desire to keep us up and the recent results have proved it!

I’m not sure if it was the lack of activity in the window but his body language both at pitch side at when doing any press conference shows a man who has had enough…. he looks a tortured soul like the rest of us!!

I think he will go one way or another and 3 wins in 21 games is poor to say the least. He isn’t the man for a Championship battle.

Whether we turn or not is immaterial. We are going down. Garde is a dead man walking – he will not be there once the season finishes as neither him nor the club will want to continue following the performance and lack of interest and investment in January respectively. There is no point in changing now, there will be no miracle or change in personnel on the playing staff. What’s more is that nobody will want to take on a doomed club and have a certain relegation on their CV.

Garde will be gone following the last game, probably almost immediately.

There is talk today of Bruce or Rowett. The board need to understand that with the blues connections this wont work despite their credentials – we know this from recent history.

For my money we need to bin this touchy feely, ‘put your arm round the player’ mamby pamby approach and get someone in who will kick these lazy, lacklustre players into action. We should have got big Sam, but now/today I would take Pearson all day long. This club needs a strong personality who says it like it is and doesn’t take nonsense. Its a shame its not 25 years ago others Ron Atkinson would have been perfect!

I completely agree Mort we need a manager who isn’t afraid to bang a few heads together! They say the games changed since Big Rons day but all that’s changed is players have got too much power, it’s like they’re untouchable.

Well sorry but they get paid too much money to stroll around Villa park putting in half a shift, they need someone on the touchline shouting and motivating and Garde isn’t that man.

No to the Blues connection especially Bruce!

I think Pearson is the best option, Ranieri has hardly touched the Leicester team since his arrival and that run of 7 straight wins to stay in the Prem was Pearsons last shout. I bet he’d love the chance to prove a point!!

avillafan – totally agree – If I were on the board i would be talking to garde to get him to agree to leave as there is no chance of survival – he could go without being sacked ( by mutual agreement) or having relegation on his CV. AVFC should go to Pearson and beg him to come in now & to start planning for the championship. He would have 2 months to look at the rubbish he has and to Identify who to keep and who he needs to get in, this would give players identified as not required time to organise themselves moves, or in Gabbys case retire. Moves could be made with clubs regarding incoming players. I know this will not happen. There are two many people in senior admin positions who have been there years and are untouchable and comfortable.
I have seen the absolute mess that the admin side at VP is in and as been for 6 years it needs fresh blood/ideas/drive, not comfort/ stagnation/living in the past. I know Learner needs to go but so do many others who have been culpable for the last 7/8 years.

……………….Jimmy you are very defensive about Garde for some reason. If you happy with watching your team go down without a wimper or fight then so be it.Garde is a better manager than Sherwood….who cares??He must be a great manager in your eyes with an amazing THREE WINS since he took over…and I wasn’t being nasty,I called him a fool cos he looks clueless and hasn’t helped Villa one bit and Jimmy games are played over 90MINUTES so your theory that Villa arnt doing so bad in most games doesn’t make sense..every team will have good patches in games and they have to take advantage of them times and most importantly when a team is under pressure then you find out what character and belief a team has and Villa and Garde have failed miserably on that .

If Garde had anything about him he would walk after yet another horrendous performance (if you can call it a performance) yesterday. No guts, no fight, no effort, no passion for the game from the players of the manager. Whilst this is not his fault as he took over a poor team and was not backed he is also incapable of changing anything and looks like a man who has given up. No hard feeling Remi but go now, walk away, and let the planning start for season from someone with some guts, fight and passion for the job.

Interesting to read the reactions when linked to prior or current Blues managers. Why would either Bruce or Rowett want to make a move to Villa and this is meant with no disrespect for your club. I know some of you still have hopes of staying up but I can’t see it myself; while there has been (some fleeting) improvement under your current manager there has been more with some of your relegation rivals and you have not done enough to gain enough confidence to put a winning streak together. Looking at Bruce, he has a good chance of getting back to the big time anyway and as for Rowett, he will bide his time and move on to bigger and better when he feels it is the right time and right club. You may be going in the right direction in some of the background staff appointments being currently made and hopefully for you at the end of the current season you can begin your rebuilding properly. If you do it correctly, appointing someone with the experience of Championship winning with the funds to attract the right sort of player, at the same time offload in the deadwood you will be in the best position in making you time at the second level as short as possible. If you don’t, you will join the list of has-been clubs dreaming of better times.

Dont understand the pre occupation with AVFC trying to get blues managers – I will tell you know IT WILL BE A DISASTER!!!! bring in Nigel Graham Pearson he knows the league – would not take any crap from the players or board – and has laid the foundations for Ranieri at leicester its a no brainer. Tell him his target is to get promotion – tell him he has a free hand to clear out the rubbish onthe playing staff, tell him and back it up with readdies what he has to spend and let him get on and sort it out.

Not so much a preoccupation Mort as very poor sports journalism designed to fill a few column inches getting the author a payment and wind up the fans. You’ll need a united front next year with both club and fans pulling in the same direction. Anything that gets in the way of that will do you harm so I’d rule out giving Alex McLeish a second chance or trying to tempt Lee Clark from north of the border also:) Not sure Pearson is a smart move; Mick McCarthy would be a less toxic bet. Whatever you do, good luck
