Yet another total balls up of a signing. This was Arteta,s fault. Pepe has a very good end of season and then he signs Willian to replace him. Then it goes totally pair shaped and they were left with a dud!
At least the signings now are much more sensible and we have got rid of him but another case of Arteta learning on the job

I get that Arteta is not one everyone’s good side at the moment but using Willian as an excuse to have a go at him is pathetic to say the least, esepscially coming from a poster who defends anything and everything blindly at this club.
When we signed Willian,Everyone was excited on here because he came at the back end of a very good season at Chelsea. The posts are saved,I can revisit them if You’d like.Reminder that Chelsea wanted to keep him,It’s just that Arsenal offered more money but Chelsea wouldn’t pay that much. That’s the difference between these two clubs,One pays over the top and the other just offers a particular deal and if it doesn’t work out they just move on.

So Yes,a flop signing but it just didn’t work out because he lost his desire to win at this age.Having Said that – A big Kudos To Willian. He’s received Dog’s abuse for the past year.Only to do something which is unheard of by a Modern Day footballer –
Tear up his contract and forfeit about 20 million in Wages.Incredible gesture and he’s admitting he hasn’t been good enough so he’s only doing what’s fair.
Unlike a certain someone Mr.Mesut Ozil who refused to leave the club.Took all of his salary. No club wanted him because no one rates him,He’s Been a flop at Fenerbache and I can lambast This club for a lot of decisions but Sacking Ozil isn’t one of them.

Just One last Point – This tag that Willian is a mega flop.He still got the highest assists for us at 5 Last season.Yes,it’s too low a number and not good enough but it just goes on to show how Dogshite the rest of the squad actually is.
150M later we still have the same squad to deal with.Mind-Boggling window this.

Everyone TSO? I said from the start that it was a stupid signing that never should have been made. My reason was that he had won everything, wanted a big safety contract no one else offered and that all the signs were there that we would not get the best of him. So you can revision my posts If you want because I argued with you about it.

Fair play to Willian for waiving his remainder of the salary.

Also let me just add this Willian was paid something to leave.

His agent is Kia the second greadiest agent after Raiola. It also look good for both parties. For Willian he can say it was not about money and for Edu and Arteta it looks like we did not loose that much.

So pinch of salt for this one

To suggest that Jackson Five tribute band member waived £20m to leave is ridiculously naive. We have paid him off like we did Ozil and Mustafi, so no plaudits for Willian or the club.

The general feeling around the club when we signed Willian was a good one myself included. The only reservation I had was his wages which was way over the top.I always look at it from different perspectives – Why weren’t Chelsea willing to offer him the same wages?Espescially at the back end of a season where they qualified for the Cl and he was touted to be an important player then.

Anyhow,As per my Understanding. He has waived off the remainder of his salary. So has been reported by some top Journalists.
I don’t know whether he was paid a small Compensation, either ways it’s not comparable to what we would have to pay if he played out the remained off his contract so in all honesty Fair play to him.
I think with the close connections of Edu and Kia,This time Kia did him one.

This club has saved 20m for a mistake that probably should never have happened. So damage control.Fine.Imagine having another Ozil on our hands. We probably have a few of those still in the squad.

This is yet another example of crass mismanagement by Arteta The Arse, Peps very own Cone Man. Signed on £240,000 per week to replace the £72m flop and he was even worse, The Arse insisted on this signing as he loves over the hill crocks. Willian quickly realised that under Arteta when you’re one of the favoured ones you don’t even have to try. In the meantime Willock & AMN are ignored, two Hale End boys who would give their all if given a chance. The sooner this trainee Pep wannabe is sacked the better for all of us.

Chelsea has a policy around players over 30 that they follow regardless of who the player is. It was not only about wage it was the amount of years that Willian wanted.

Does anyone really think that what we paid him off with would be leaked when it would look bad for both?

Oracle AMN has apparently been demoted to U23 as punishment by Arteta so i doubt we will see much of him anytime soon.

Muffler, His crime being a post on Instagram where he said all I want to do is play. Arteta refuses to play him for a non-existent reason other than the fact he’s never played for Chelsea. AMN went onto say I just want to be somewhere where they want me and will play me. Arteta The Arse’s treatment of the lad is utterly disgusting. In the meantime he keeps Xhaka, extends his contract, gives him more money and makes him Captain. Arteta is an arrogant, petty, vindictive twerp who needs sacking ASAP before he causes more damage. This fool is bad enough to get Arsenal relegated.

Who comes in to replace Arteta?

you aint getting conte or anyone similar thats a fact. So who do all you who want him sacked think can come in and turn it around? also further to that will you support that manager as most of you havent given Arteta a day before turning on him, so will the next manager get same treatment when things don’t go well or will you give them time and allow them to basically do what we are doing now i.e getting rid of AL the deadwood and signing the new managers players he wants to achieve.

Just curious as there Is a lot of hate towards him but no one comes up with viable solution. Its always we should of got XYZ when we had the chance which is quite frankly the dumbest comment to questions above.

You can’t just go sack the manager, that hasn’t worked for 3 managers and it sure as hell won’t work now given the current state of the squad. so Who?

Ten hag is the one i would like..

If Arteta stays then demote him to coach only

Remove Vinai and Edu and bring in experience in those roles its not a learn your trade role.

thats not a bad shout for Ten Hag, he would need a few years to turn it around and build a team. He had that Ajax and was fortunate that he was at Ajax to do it. a farmers league with one of the best youth systems in the country.

Frank De Boer did well at Ajax then came to palace and got sacked after what 8 games.

Would you allow lower/mid table finishes whilst he spent 3 possibly 4 yrs turning it around? thats the reality. If so why isn’t Arteta getting that same time? it would be the exact same process.

Agree that Arteta would be better suited as Coach and not manager, problem with that is you need an football man as director of football. I would personally bring back Wenger for a senior role at the club and then get Marc Overmars in whilst keeping Arteta as head coach.

Edu deffo needs to go, not sure on Vinai not really sure he has done much wrong other than believe in Edu.

Well no body knows what would happen with a new coach of course but I have seen enough of Arteta to know its not going in the right direction. Besides the players brought in are in the young bracket which should make a transistion easier.

Vinai should control what Edu and Arteta are doing but he is not. He is a newbie and zero knowledge for his role just as Edu.

We cant have people learning on the job this why are in the mess we are in. No control from the top. Not sure it would be better since we the Kroenkes who also dont have a clue.

The thing about Wenger is that he needs somebody to keep him in check otherwise we will again have all mighty people after powerstruggels. I have had enough of that.

I like ten haag and overmars can join him and replace edu

What are people’s thoughts on Eddie how?

Too big for him or given where we are and what he has achieved could do well?

Arteta is obviously going before the end of the year, who replaces him is open to debate. The club will always go for the 2nd rate option, the cheapest and the least likely to know what they’re doing. Whoever is appointed I’m willing to bet the set up after him will be a combination of Bergkamp, Henry, Overmars and Vieira. I can see Overmars as Director of football and one of the other 3 as manager. Who knows if Vieira does a half decent job at Palace it could be him sooner than later

Having Wenger back again would be utter madness, never heard such a stupid comment. He overstayed his welcome here by at least 10 years because people kept saying he “deserved to decide when to leave!” The whole structure at the club is rotten and this slide stemmed with Wenger and his reluctance to buy the players we needed and staying with his crap choices in key positions like goalkeeper and central defence. We have three prats in charge here all learning their jobs at the club’s expense. I do not care a jot what their CV’s are like- Vinai, Edu and Arteta do not by any stretch of the imagination deserve to be where they are. Vinai, a sound bite consultant who smiles and gives off platitudes every three months or so has never been a CE and has zero football nous; Edu is corrupt and is still partying with the sacked Raul. Arteta is supposedly a good coach- which players have improved- Leno, Bellerin, Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang etc have all regressed under this autocrat, who has zero man management skills. He has hissy fits and then snubs younger players, whilst crap players like Xhaka, Holding, Cedric and Chambers can continue to play for the team. So all three are shit, but who will sack them- Josh K? No chance, these Yanks will be in it for the long run and have stupidly given Arteta £150m to waste on average players who “might” one day make it. Yes, by all means give Arteta 3 or 4 years to relegate us. No doubt then some will celebrate the fact that we’d get a parachute payment to help us return to the Premiership!

Jeff – Agree with every single word of that. People on here have a very short memory. Wenger is the main reason we are in this mess, hundreds of millions wasted on utter rubbish we can’t give away. When was the last time we actually received a fee for one of Wengers gutless losers, we actually have to pay them to leave. Having him back would be like committing suicide. Wenger & Arteta, now that could well relegate us.

Asking for a sack in the manager is one of the worst things the fans could do.But I’m not surprised, because when things go South the Jumping on the Bandwagon of Sacking the manger usually gathers pace. It’s tiring to be honest, the last two managers we’ve sacked we’ve factually regressed. What more proof do you need that sacking the manager is not the end to all Solutions? It’s just a short term feel good factor for the fans.

As Andy asks,Who do you think that would realistically come in and do a better Job.I think of all the available managers in the world I’d literally only take Conte and that’s because this squad now is more suited to a 3 at the back and he’s a master at it.I doubt though if he’s the right person for young players, he obviously won’t last more than 3 years max and most importantly I just don’t believe he’d want to Join looking at the State of this club.
I’d honestly take no other available manager, this suggestion of Ten Hag etc is nonsense. No other manager would be able to get more out of this squad.

Muffler,You say You’ve seen enough of Arteta and think he’s not capable.Well, what’s he done that makes you think that?(ignore the start to this season).
In his first season, he overachieved by winning us the FA cup closely followed by Community Shield. In his second season, the first Half wasn’t good but that was because of lack of activity in the transfer market. When he finally got Odegaard and ESR and SAKA at his best,He achieved 3rd spot even though that squad is not capable of it if You only count the second half of the season.
This is not my opinion,I’m spitting facts.
If it were not for VAR screwing us on multiple occasions(They still do). We’d have achieved a higher finish.
To say he’s not capable without much solid evidence is just not done.
    As a coach he is,As a manger he’s not.Atleast just Yet.

At the end of the day,It’s all about Perspective. When we lost to City, and I saw fans asking for his sack I knew for Sure this fanbase will never learn.
Again perspective. You can lambast all the personel for recruitment but at the end of the day this squad has been accumulated.
EVEN WITH A FULLY FIT SQUAD,I GUARANTEE YOU we would have lost 2 out of the first 3 games. The game against Brentford,Covid hit senior members of the squad.Too young a team that played although yes we should’nt have lost.
Just because we are 3 points we are behind what should’ve been is not enough of a reason for a manager to get sacked after backing him with 150m.
There are so many things out of Mikel Arteta’s control that people fail to analyse because they’re agenda driven.

Has anyone Not read the article mentioned on the other thread.Le grove- Mini Wenger.Go and have a read.It explains the condition of the club perfectly apart from the last para where author is deluded enough to believe this is an able squad. It’s not.
In short, Arteta should never have been promoted to a managerial level and remained as a coach.Edu failed to act on certain decisions and most importantly Vinai is absolutely clueless on the happenings at the club. There is an utter lack of leadership from the very top which is why we’re in this mess.

So please,Don’t ask for the same thing over and over again. In the next few games, we will know whether Arteta has lost the dressing room.As much as I rate him as a coach,I think once a manager loses the dressing room it’s curtains for him as at any other club.Let’s just see.

One thing I can Guarantee you – You lot will ask for the next manager to be sacked within one and a half year.Possibly sooner. It’s GUARANTEED.We’ve seen this movie before.Again, the underlying problems are way bigger and the solution is simply not to sack the manager!

Not having the same debate again TSO as I already said my peace. To sum up

    Poor manmanagement
    Slow football with little movement
    No form of cohesive defence
    Changes personel in defence often
Playing crosses in the box when we dont have anyone there or that can head it.

I can give you more but you know I wont change my mind. I dont think anyone should be learning the job at our club and that goes for all of them Edu, Vinai and Arteta. I think all of them should be out not just Arteta.

We have signed zero ready players that has a future. I dont complain about the signings they are good but where is the balance.

Not to mention that we still have Kola, Cedric, Elneny, Xhaka, Chambers getting starts in the league.

Answer this TSO are you confident we will win any of the 3 games coming up?

Norwich, Burnley and Spurs Im not.. You might think Norwich is easy but they have played Pool, Man City and Leicester and actually scored a goal. So level wise with us
