Hopefully he will stay healthy until the end of this season. I think he will add a lot of creativity in our team. Now the club and FL have to start the striker hunting. And also GK hunting. About left back, if we can play more 3-4-3 than 4-3-3, I reckon we may not need to buy. Alonso again shows us what he can do. He is really dangerous in attack.

The latest claim from El Chiringuito TV is that Chelsea have made an offer to Atletico Madrid of 30 million euros plus Kepa, in exchange for their keeper Jan Oblak???

If we really are looking to sign a Keeper we could do a lot worse than Ramsdale who has impressed me every time I’ve seen him play.

9 in the Bournemouth thread you mention your concern about Rudiger, agree 100%.

As you all know I often bang on about the psychology side of the game.

When you look at the likes of Rudiger and his injury record this season and then factor in the Euros in the summer it gets you wondering what exactly goes through a players head. They are only human and there has to be an element of a player thinking about preserving themselves for the International Tournaments. Robben and Hazard were classic examples of this. They always performed their best and most consistent in seasons with no international tournament at the end. Self preservation as they wanted the International glory. At the end of the day football is their career, clubs are mere employers!!

Kepa is having a poor season, but he is dealing with a break up of a personal relationship. Again he is a young man and human being. It will have an impact!

Morata had to deal with the death of his best friend and becoming a father for the first time living hundreds of miles from close family and friends, again a young man and a human being. It did have an impact!!

Courtois had to deal with having a young family hundres of miles away , even though he was still an egotistical twat, which makes harder to sympathise, but still a young man etc

Bottom line these guys are still human beings who WE set up on a pedestal without knowing the real person and each and everyone of us, including myself, are quick to judge when they play badly. If (depending on your age) they were our son how would we feel about the criticism from us keyboard warriors!!

A swap for Kepa may not be that big a gamble for Athletico. I dont think the lad will ever settle here because of the personal circumstances.
Whereas being back in his homeland may work wonders for him.

In saying that if we can find homegrown talent, well we remove the feelings of homesickness and isolation.

Transfers are always a gamble for club and player alike.

I wonder just what is going through Hazards mind at the minute. Real Madrid the dream move allegedly.
Disastrous season on the injury front. Potentially missing out on what could be his last Euros, knowing he may well have been player that was helping Chelsea push City and Leicester all the way!!!

Its hard to do because we are all so wrapped up in our love for Chelsea but sometimes we need to step back and consider the bigger picture, I know I have to.

We need to get behind these lads, even more so when they hit a poor patch. We would do the same for our family and friends and we would hope we would be treated that way too.

I don’t think Real will easily let Hazard go. Look at Courtois’s case. First season so-so. Second season, he becomes a colossus for Réal. We know that he has always been a great goalie technically just his attitude stank when he was with us. Réal would do the same with Hazard, they would be patient, and I could see he would be a hit right away when he will come back from his injury, probably early next season. Réal have money, depth of squad, everything to be patient. Other clubs may not have it.

bort start the transfer thread please 😉

So Willian has rejected the two-year contract that the club has offered him? and he is pushing for three years? That is a total rib off for the club to offer him one year let alone two. this guy needs to be shown the door if we want our young wingers to thrive. he is a waste of space. 32 goals in the league in 7 years aren’t good enough for a club of Chelsea’s stature. I would rather have the young wingers making mistakes, at least they will learn and become better. Pulisic has already proven to be better than him, and Hudson Odoi, once he gets his form back, is better than him.

Let Mourinho take him to Spurs, he is a finished goods. hasn’t been a Chelsea standard and will never be one. at 32 I don’t think he will set the world alight at Spurs. and he will contribute to their downfall, and once Mourinho is sacked, he will be told to look for a club.

You may well get your wish. He has actually had a pretty good season this time around and Frank makes it clear his thoughts.

Yet another injury set back with CHO!!

Bort when you put together your transfer list have the fitness coaches at the top of the out list.

I can never remember a season with so many injuries with so many set backs that take so long to recover from!!

I have said it before, these guys came with Frank from the Championship and that is about their level!!

Giroud open to staying at Chelsea he’s proved a good option again and gives us something different it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if it were to happen obviously it depends on who we sign and what sort of game time we can offer.

Willian is a different kettle of fish imo Frank seemingly wants him to stay the Club have offered him a two year contract William wants 3, Frank says it’s not over which suggests something like a 2 year deal with a 1 year option might be a compromise position for both sides time will tell.

As Frank said in his press conference today “the future of any player, including Olivier Giroud, will not be decided until the summer.”

Be a tragedy imo if Willian went to Spurs if for no other reason than we would lose a great song.😊

“The xxxxx from Spurs, They bought his flight!
But Will.I.An, he saw the light!
He got a call from Abramovich,
And off he went to Stamford Bridge!
He hates Tottenham! He hates Tottenham! He hates Tottenham! And He hates Tottenham.”

NI, Matt Birnie and Will Tullett are the fitness Coaches at Chelsea.
Burnie has been at Chelsea since 2005 and Tulett from 2003.Dr Paco
Biosca is the Medical Director and head of the medical department and he
arrived at Chelsea in 2011 after working for Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.

I don’t think Frank bought any fitness staff with him to Chelsea.

“Real Madrid are planning a fresh move for Manchester United and Spain goalkeeper David de Gea, 29.” BBC Football.

Most newspapers are covering this story Zidane allegedly still not convinced by Courtois. Not sure though that Real Madrid are entirely convinced by Zidane second time around either.

Personally I wouldn’t want Courtois back at Chelsea under any circumstances.

Apologies 9 the article I read was obviously totally inaccurate. Regardless they are still shit. Never can I recall a squad of ours being so ravaged by injuries, the vast majority of which are non contact and the fact that they take so long to recover, many of then picking up a re-occurence and another injury during whilst recuperating!

NI, absolutely no need for any apology you posted what you thought was accurate and occasionally it’s based on the wrong info we all do that at times me inc no harm done. Keep em coming buddie your posts are always a great read.

Also your point was still a very good one ie why are we getting all these injuries (no matter who the Fitness Coaches are.)

Some have been unavoidable like the impact injury to Abraham but it needs some analysis in the Club to see if we can’t do things better 8 or 9 out is just too many. Cheers 9’s

I suggested when we agreed the bumper deal with Hudson Odoi that it would be a problem for us going forwards and that’s the problem we are currently facing with Tammy.

We shouldn’t let this go past the Summer and realistically he’s right to ask for parity with Hudson Odoi and we’ve got nowhere to go but to give it to him.

In respect of Gilmour while he still has 3 years to run come this Summer on the contract he signed last Summer we need to offer him a more lucrative 5 year contract in the Summer and get him signed up too.

    Both players are our future.

De Gea, for me it’s a persistent rumour that will never disappear. A world beater at some matches, but error-prone at some other matches. I don’t think Real really want him. They will stick with Courtois for some years I think. Kepa played well today even though Everton weren’t really menacing. But I still cannot see him to become world class. I don’t think Man Utd would ever sell Henderson to us even though they still have de Gea. I still think GK search must be our priority in the summer.

I hope Gilmour will continue his good performance with Jorginho suspended and Kovacic injured. The kid looks class. I think we need to sell Jorginho. Not that he is that bad but look at Chelsea today without him. Great passing forward, not sideways. Look at how Gilmour penetrate until the penalty box of Everton. We need to trust more Gilmour and also Ampadu next season. We only need one of Jorginho and Kovacic and I would choose Kovacic.

Abraham is important, hope that he will sign. Michy has to go, Giroud really shows how good he is despite his age (he is a world champion too) and if we are able to buy another striker (Werner or Dembele), we can retain Giroud and sell Michy.

Courtois has never looked like the Keeper he was at Chelsea at Real Aindro he let one in against City in the CL he should have saved but that’s the problem with being a Keeper your mistakes are magnified as Kepa and Ederson will tell you.
