Nine, I would hope given the score at half time that it was just precautionary by Lamps given Rudigers lack of match fitness.

Wolves got a second, switched play well, open man shot, keeper saved, wolves scored from rebound.

Good link up play by Batshuayi has to be noted, but the composure Mount shows is outsanding

Hopefully Abraham hasnt done too much damage with the awkward landing just before substitution, he looked hurt but walked off which is always a positive.

What a result today, shame we couldnt keep a clean sheet but we owned the game and tactics and set up from Frank was spot on. Really impressed with how we adapted to take on wolves today, massive positive this result.

Think back to Jose’s criticisms of Lampard selecting Tammy and Mount in that game against utd, 4 games later and combined Tammy and Mount account for 10 of our 11 goals so far in prem league. With out doubt Jose is the superior manager but for what chelsea need now I wouldnt swap him for lamps in a heart beat, he just doesnt get potential like fergie did, you’re either world class or irrelevant to jose.

A lot more confident re Tammy’s ability after that, all good goals but that third one was quality. Mason Mount could be anything and that goal right at the end reminded me of a certain player’s quality that we no longer have. Nice goal by Tomori as well as a solid defensive display. Willian did a lot of clean up work and actually looked like he wanted to have a real dig and Barkley looked good when he came on.

Again conceding two however we looked a lot more solid defensively overall with Frank’s formation change. Rudiger obviously a bit rusty but it’s vital having him back especially with Liverpool coming up next. Shout out for Alonso who played well and a lovely little dink of a cross for Abraham’s second. Great result.

I remember once Hazard left we were all wondering where the goals would come from. 7 for Tammy already. Wow.

Lucky, We won so doomsday will disappear for a while. It must be so painful trying to be positive I reckon. Lost count of all the I’m afraids or don’t count the chickens in just about every post. He really is toxic I’m afraid. Needs to grow a pair. The hatred of Willian is beyond the joke, his number one target. Willian put in an enthusiastic shift for mine, buzzing around and breaking up a lot of Wolves play.

Wow! Tammy hattrick. Mount very consistent. Tomori’s goal. All goals from our youngsters, how amazing is that !! Rudiger showed that we are way more solid with him (even though we played 3 CB today). Hopefully he was not injured, FL said that it was groin. And was Tammy injured?

I think at the beginning we weren’t fluid, still adjusting to back 3. A lot of passes sideways. But we slowly gained possession and then a beautiful goal by Tomori. I am glad that I tried my hardest not to check internet this morning and then watched the re-run of the match. A great victory for us! UCL next and then Liverpool

Am I the only Chelsea fan who is secretely praying this transfer ban to be extended? yesterday’s game has clearly shown us that we needed this ban to wake up. the chances for the younger and loan players had been long overdue, and boy! how they have grabbed it with both hands is amazing.

we had been crying for this striker who is affiliated to the club, and who is not a problem to deal with. after all we had one in our doorstep. that means potential £80m-£100m to be spent on striker saved now. we wanted a creative goal scoring box to box midfielder, we had one in our doorstep. that is potential £60-£80 million saved. we needed a ball playing CB to replace Luiz, and we had one in our books that is potential £50-£70 million saved now. two of the 3 CBs that started the game for us yesterday were from our academy. the oldest player on the pitch was Azpi at 30. unbelievable! next we need a right back, and i see that in our doorstep also. and who knows if that will save another £50-£60 million?

this transfer ban has been the best thing that happened to Chelsea since we have won the CL. and we have the right man at helm to sail this ship to the promised land. my only worry is Zouma’s form. every time he plays for us, our defence is in a choatic state. dear Frank please sort that out.

Long my this promising signs continue.

YB the vast majority of Chelsea fans going via all the relative social sites were not worried about the transfer ban, How else would we integrate highly successful youngsters, I been saying for years you got to play then regularly at the highest level, why spend all that money on expensive imports when you have them right under your nose, maybe 1 or 2 players yes but then whose going to drop out, at the moment our weakest player is the keeper, on his day obviously brilliant but lacks a lot in some games. Still have Hudson, RLC and Reece to come in plus Pulsic who never got a show yesterday. All young and brilliant.

“Willian returned to the Chelsea team for the away win against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday – and some of the club’s supporters praised him for his performance.

Frank Lampard’s team stunned Wolves at Molineux with a 5-2 victory in the Premier League fixture, which was an emphatic way to come back after the international break.

The Blues had three academy graduates contribute all five goals and there is certainly a buzz back around Stamford Bridge.

Centre-back Fiakyo Tomori scored a staggering long-range effort that curled into the top corner and already looks an early contender for goal of the season.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham was then the star of the show with a hat-trick, which means he’s got seven goals in his last three league fixtures and looks the real deal in the top-flight.

The defensive problems did resurface late on by conceding late goals, but Mason Mount added a fifth in stoppage time to put gloss on the scoreline.

Some Chelsea fans on social media were quick to point out an impressive display from Willian on his return to the XI.

Willian came in for his first start of the campaign due to previous injury problems and excelled on the right-wing, as the Blues switched to a 3-4-3 formation that was extremely effective.

The 31-year-old demonstrated he’s got the defensive side to his game by tracking back, while going forward he was quick and caused a threat.

He is certainly not one of the crowd favourites at the club and receives his fair share of criticism, but he played his role in a great team performance on the road.

The Brazilian is one of the senior players in the group and he proved he can play an important role under Lampard this season.”

Credit where credit is due and nice comments from Frank. “It’s important we also respect the experienced players have played a huge part. Wilian was fantastic today, absolutely brilliant. If we are going to be successful this season we can’t (just) rely on the young boys, although at the minute they are doing a good job!”

And credit to Frank too for his tactical nous in setting the team up the way he did to counter the way Wolves play.

Not many teams win at Molinuex and even less score 5 goals.

Wonderful win only slightly spoiled by the two goals conceded and the slight groin strain to Rudiger and the slight knock to Tammy.

That win cost me a bottle of bubbly last night at dinner last night to celebrate down here in Sunny Looe in Cornwall with the wife.😊

Once we get Rudi fit and Emerson, Kante, James, RLC and CHO back and the transfer ban lifted who knows? Happy Days!

Our next league match will be interesting. This is a whole new test and whilst our performance in the Super Cup was encouraging I have a feeling a premier league match with three points up for grabs will mean an opponent that have extra gears to go through and will use them. It will be tough but we need to have faith. Let’s hope Rudiger is fit. Surely he will be rested against Valencia and worked on all week.

I’ll put this here instead of setting up a new thread for it.

Ray ‘Butch’ Wilkins would have turned 63 14/9/19. Our win at Wolves would have had him smiling. See the video below. Thoughts go out to him.RIP Butch

I think the formation with 3 central defenders suit us well. We then can play Alonso and possibly Reece James when he will be ready who have attacking attribute. I think Alonso did really well yesterday, he was like when we were under Conte. A constant threat on the left flank. And combined with Mount there who is not a real winger: lethal combination. Of course he has defensive defaults. But that’s why FL played with 3 CBs.
