Another joke of a performance allowing Wolves into this. This team has no bollocks and the manager doesnt understand English football. I hope these substitutions work or else our confidence will be so low against City we will ne humiliated- again! Come on Chelsea COME ON!December 5, 2018 at 9:35 pm #1704729
Another defeat another week of pressure for Sarri. I don’t know how people expected different result from the same squad? Mango trees doesn’t give you oranges. We knew that our squad cannot play high press and quick football where we are to dominate possession.but choose to ignore. They had always been prepared to sit back and soak up pressure. Another Europa League campaign is on the cards. And possibly losing Kante, Hazard and Loftus Cheek. Will Sarri change his way to suit the squad at his disposal by returning Kante at his natural position before its too late?December 5, 2018 at 9:45 pm #1704745
oh and that loss will be the catalyst for Hazard to make the move to Spain!! Where to from here? Saturday is a bit of a worry.December 5, 2018 at 9:51 pm #1704753
Am actually begining to worry about Sarri’s sturborness and his refusal to see what 6 billion in this world saw. In the PL you need a specialist defensive midfielder. What worries me most is the ease at which teams reach our defences. And Sarri is refusing to address. I care the 3 points first, then the the style if football. It will take a while for me to get over from this defeat.😢December 5, 2018 at 9:52 pm #1704755
nine nine nineModerator
70% possession , 17 shots but only 3 on target tells the story.
Whatever else might need solving until we solve the striker connundrum we will struggle to score goals there’s not enough goals through the rest of the team and no matter how much you dominate the game if you don’t score goals results like this happen. Still at least it’s only City on Saturday!December 5, 2018 at 9:53 pm #1704758
Let’s change it from No Plan B Sideways Sarri to See Ya Sarri!
This is a guy who comes off with crap like We don’t need a Captain, Blames World Cup Winner, 2 X PL Winner and FA Cup Winner Kante, who he is playing out of position for the Spurs loss, says the Chelsea Squad has a mental block and is building his team around a player whose total honours consist of winning the Italian equivalent of the FA Cup and Charity Shield four and a half seasons ago….. which is two trophies more than the Coach has won!!
Are you that f off Roman ….
Also still have not seen Wegner in public since the end of last season …. bet if you were to break into his house you would find a fat suit and a rubber mask resembling a dark haired, balding nose picking Italian with a cigarette hanging out of its mouth!December 5, 2018 at 9:57 pm #1704764
Sarri is yet another stubborn tw*t. I am sick of hearing nonsense about his philosophy doesnt allow him to play the players in their correct position. The philosophy i want is a winning one! We are constantly out played even when we win. I have given up on Morata -he spends more time on the ground than he does standing up! I am sick of reading comments in the press from players complaining they arent playing then seeing them cock it up like Christiansen- shut up and do your talking on the pitch. Top 4 has already gone imo unless the manager plays Kante where he needs to be and is given a proper centre forward. We need to win the EL to get into the CL and i cant see that happening either. It shows that when Hazard doesnt play well we cant win. Our players look knackered already and again the manager is to blame as he refuses to give others a chance when those he selected havent played well. Where is the Sarri ball press – the players dont have the energy to do it! I am so frustrated and embarrassed by this pile of sideways passing sh*t!!!December 5, 2018 at 10:19 pm #1704791
There’s no excuse whatsoever for losing to Wolves tonight. the team seemed to lack passion and drive, no one is making runs into the box, it’s so easy to defend against us. we are already 10 point behind city and come Saturday it will be 13. concentrate on the Europa and see whether we can get into the champions league through that route. as for Hazard and his constant links to Spain, he can F off right now! ( another headline news today )
one last point before i finish ranting…. we will be hearing a lot about Christensen’s mistake that led to the goal but no one is going to say anything about Willian’s scoring abilities. I bet CHO would have either scored or squared it to the others…..December 5, 2018 at 10:27 pm #1704792
Bring back Cahill, at least he has been at Chelsea longer than any other players. He has won more than any one. He has experience and he will do well against City. Why play Christensen a game of that magnitude? The captain belongs to the pitch. Return Kante to his natural position. Simple as that.December 5, 2018 at 10:32 pm #1704797
Game of what magnitude? if Christensen cannot play against the likes of Wolves etc., then when will he ever prove himself?, it was the perfect opportunity for him and i’m afraid he’d bottled it.December 5, 2018 at 10:33 pm #1704798
Just going on to the BBC iPlayer to catch up with this week’s The Apprentice
Please oh please oh please Roman ….. use Lord Sugars catch phrase before it’s too late!!!!!December 5, 2018 at 10:34 pm #1704799
Kinell!…Wolves?…someone pinch me to wake me out of my slumber!.Pains me to be jumping on the’I told you so’ bandwagon.Sarri needs to swallow his pride and do an about turn to restore Kante to the position he’s become World renound for,but you what?,I ain’t holding my breath, got a feeling Sarri is a ‘one trick pony’ and he only knows one way how to play the game and hasn’t got a plan B!.Yes,I know…knee jerk reaction but I believe this result is going to set us back a bit!December 6, 2018 at 12:03 am #1704829
Sarri isnt get any more out of Morata than Conte did last season despite his self proclaimed desire to coach rather than buy!!
This team lacks cojones and its so called talisman has done nothing since October. We have problems in defence, midfield, up front, on the bench and in the boardroom. Basically we are a club in decline after successive cock ups starting at the top.
I just hate all this slow build up from the back and whenever we are pressed we just collapse -everyone just seems physically stronger than us -perhaps its because Sarri has banned training with weights! To be out played and out fought by a team like Wolves shows the level of this team. Please dont talk to me about our unbeaten run we were fortunate in many of the games and often out played. Now we have been found out. How dare Sarri misuse the master that is Kante and how dare he disrespect the PL by thinking his one man immobile pivot is how to play without any real defensive cover for the defence. Even Pep had to adapt for f*cks sake!!! Time and again tonight Wolves broke on us and were able to threaten the goal -i am convinced this is why we played so poorly in the second half -we were sh*tting ourselves they would score on the break and we didn’t attack with any freedom. Perhaps the rumours are true that Hazard has agreed to go to Madrid and the rest of the team have been affected but i believe the way they are being told to play by the manager is the problem. If you struggle to score goals as a team then make sure we defend well especially in midfield and sneak a 1.0 win umtil you have the players who can score more frequently. Why on earth do we constantly attack through the middle when both our forwards are good with their head -but then who in the team can cross the ball well? We can talk about changes in the tactics and bringing in players like CHO but it is quite clear that this manager is as stubborn as a mule and his team play like one! Soon be time for Guus to make another appearance for the rest of the season if this cr*p carries on.December 6, 2018 at 12:08 am #1704831
It is not just tonight.
We have played 6 of the other teams who as of 12.01 am on the 6th December form the top 8 in the prem. 5 of whom we have played at the Bridge. These are the teams you need to get results against to secure your top 4 finish, not the relegation fodder or the mid table mediocrity.
So we have collected to date 9 points out of a possible 18, which equates to 9 points out of a possible 15 at home.
That can also be looked at as 9 points dropped, 6 of those at home.
We now face the unstoppable City at the Bridge and then with the exception of Spurs have the away legs!!
People on here calling Sarri stubborn etc, which I agree, but the most worrying thing to me is what he is not, and that is a winner, always the runner-up at best! Winning becomes a state of mind, where does he gave the experience to call upon to compete with the likes of Pep or Emery even Klippity and even though he is having a disaster Jose still has the experience!
We have had serial European League Clubs Managing Winners (as opposed to International) here for most of the Abramovich era, and all those guys have delivered. Jose, Carlo, Guss, Antonio even Rafa, and the excpetion RDM who did what winners do ….. adapted to the strenghts of the squad.
But those of a lesser pedigree have all failed, Scolari, the Undertaker, AVB …. and why ….. because they REFUSED to adapt …. history does have a habit of repeating itself!!
Let’s hope the team can find it within themselves to pull out the result of the season this weekend, however at the minute all I can see is 9 points out of a possible 21 !!December 6, 2018 at 12:42 am #1704835
Even Sarri said there will be bad results as he beds all of this in. I think we need to give it until say February and see where we are at then. I will be happy to hear all the I told you so’s then if we are mid table and creaking at the seems. Bad result but Wolves deserve some credit surely.Anything less than a hiding on Saturday against City will be acceptable to most of you I assume. I demand a reaction and a draw at worst. Here’s hoping. These guys are all international footballers and surely must have some pride. We will find out Saturday, if there is a notable reaction which I am expecting, notwithstanding the enormity of our task.December 6, 2018 at 5:02 am #1704838
feel so terrible this morning-any remedies?December 6, 2018 at 5:20 am #1704839
am I wrong in saying that Kante was playing in his natural position, anyway dont think thats the real problem, I think the problem is upfront-no predatorsDecember 6, 2018 at 7:21 am #1704850
The players are not motivated because they worked out Hazard is off. There’s been a collapse in Hazards form since his hat trick… As has the collapse in the sides form.
Willian needs to go after that performance. I’ve stuck up for him numerous times. Total garbage last night. Sarri needs to use CHO in front of him because he cannot be anyworse than Willian.
Hazard has vanished since his hat trick. I will be glad to see the back of him in January. He is far too hit and miss and cannot maintain form for long periods.
I’ve defended Morata but the the guy just needs to grow a pair and stop falling over.December 6, 2018 at 7:35 am #1704855
very disappointing result against a very average team, the real problem nothing upfront and thats not only Morata and Giroud but also the 3 attacking midfielders, many supporters wanted Chelsea to accept that money for Willian but Sarri who believes he knows better decided to keep him, Pedro is not much better either, Alonso was dreadful and here we thought Emerson possibly a better defender or much quicker in getting back would have gotten a chance? Sarri and Maria as someone mentioned need to act today and not wait till the window opens, we have to find the right person upfront urgently or else we going to fall out of the top 6 never mind the top 4. with another almost sure defeat Saturday we will be overtaken by Arsenal and the other chasing pack will be very close, I mean we talking about teams like United, Everton, Bournemouth. I really really hope Im wrong but I dont see Sarri lasting too long either unless they do something that will change the current status.December 6, 2018 at 7:44 am #1704858
Only read the reports but it sounds very much to me as though our problem is the one we always knew we had and did not address – we cannot score enough goals
I don’t care about possession stats as they are meaningless if you do not take your chances but once again we had the possession which DID lead to many chances being created and all we got was a deflected goal
Totally agree that we do not seem to have any kind of leadership or underlying belief in the team and again I would suggest that stems from the fact that we do not as a team believe we can score enough goals so if we go behind then panic sets in
We are on a learning curve and hiccups will happen but these are the kind of games we have to take points from. Wonder if Sarri listens to Zola at all or exactly what kind of advice that Zola is offering as he has not been a successful manager anywhere..? I think Sarri has his way and expects the team to adapt and react and he is still coming to terms with the fact that the EPL is a totally different league compared to Italy and why it is widely recognised as the best in the world
Hugely disappointing, but not the end of the world just yet. Sarri and the fans will be expecting a response on Saturday but we could not have picked a tougher game to try and get it…!! KTBFFH
