Jesus. Sunday. This is it lads. The end.

I am a firm believer in the Law of Attraction. It’s rarely let me down. This post will ALL be about the LOA.

Strongest bastard line-up with a guess toward who will be available (slight matter of a rather large game the weekend after):

Alisson, Trent, Matip, Konate, Robbo, Henderson, Thiago, Keita, Diaz, Bobby and Mane.

Bobby was ace last night and if he replicates his movement again on Sunday I would seriously be tempted to start him v Madrid.

Rest Virg and Salah; we should have enough quality out there to win this without them involved. Get them ready for Paris.

We haven’t lost against Wolves in the League for 12 years when a second half Steven Ward goal at Anfield was enough for all three points. Since then we’ve played them 10 times in the League, winning…..all 10, conceding just 2.

Wolves’ biggest issue is not only not winning but not scoring many either. Doesn’t mean they don’t have any useful players, they do, lots of good players but they’re shite in the attacking third.

Despite their inconsistences Wolves could finish a very respectable 8th but I expect Leicester to pip them to that spot despite them not really ever finishing seasons strong.

We cannot afford to worry about what’s going on down the East Lancs. Let’s just take care of business our end and hope that Phil blasts in a 95th winner equaliser at the Etihad. If fact, and going back to my Law of Attraction mention earlier, this WILL happen.

    Liverpool 3 Wolves 0
    Man City 1 Villa 1

    Fuckin hell YES! Bollocks!

Yes I fully expect as near to our final starting team as possible to start this game..injuries permitting.

All we can do is win this game and see where fate takes us.

Klopp reporting that VVD, Salah and Fabinho could be on the bench, at least, for this one.

Ya, important to give them a few minutes. Hopefully it wont be requiring anything too strenuous. If we’re really playing full throttle with 60 or 70 to go thne it might be best to just leave the conditioning to the training pitches. I’d hate to risk them but at the same time, you want them sharp.

Sean, me old chap. Will you do me a favour and post on the FPL thread on footydebate that I offer my congratulations to ‘Fred West Ham’ on winning the FPL this season.

Only a few games ago, we were on exactly the same points but he managed to pull away from me and the gap between us now is insurmountable. It was one hell of a race between us, that probably nobody else even noticed but I enjoyed it.

    Thanks in advance.

As for real football, I’m already buzzing about tomorrow. the pressure is definitely off us, I can even feel that as a fan. Have a think about how you all feel yourselves and I bet you it’s the same. That means that the pressure is all on City and although we’ve seen them thrive under pressure, we’ve also seen them crumble under it, so I think the PL is actually possible.

City will most likely be champions tomorrow but don’t think it’s over. There may well be red ribbons on that thing yet.

Still in with a shot of the title after 37 games played! Love it, this is going to be a rollercoaster. Let’s hope for a City collapse like the one v Madrid.
We need to win our game and hope debruyne has a rare stinker.

I’m going for 3-1 for us in our game….
with 2-2 in the city villa game and Mahrez to miss a peno in the 93rd minute

Today is Judgement Day, I’ll keep it simple, we have to win this game, no other option, as preparation for next week’s CL final, and in case City slip up.

Easy team selection, basically our strongest team, the one that we’ll use in the CL final (except Fabinho if he’s fit), so let’s win it.

As for Steven Gerrard, if Villa do not lose to City today, he will go down in the history of football.

    Alisson
    Trent Van Dijk Konate Robbo
    Keïta Henderson Thiago
    Salah Mané Díaz

I don’t want us to start Origi, just because it’s his last day but I hope that we’re in a good enough position with 30 mins to go that he can come on and get one last goal at Anfield.

The 3 points come before any sentimentality and I hope Klopp considers this when making his starting line-up. He’s a very sentimental guy, so I am a little worried that he might start Origi. Of course he could go ahead and score but he’s always been better off the bench… That said, this is an extraordinary game and in a way, that pressure that seems to make him a better player would be there from the start, so who knows.
Of course, whether Salah is fit enough to start…
This is it anyway. Pressure is firmly on City but Villas awful defence is a worry.

Before the games kick-off, I’m feeling totally relaxed about things i.e. I’ve got very little expectation that City to slip-up so I’ve managed to fully price this into my mindset and any different outcome will just be a total bonus. That said, if we’re into the second half and City are losing/drawing/even only 1 goal up and we’re looking after our side of things, then I’ll most likely be an absolute nervous wreck.

Feel the same. Completely relaxed as to me it’s already lost but i sm very proud of the team pushing this far. It might change depending on circumstances but I won’t start celebrating if City struggle early on they have an ability to just keep going until they get the result.

Apart from 2020, I’ve never felt so relax going into the final game under Klopp. This team has surpassed all expectation, anything else is a bonus. Que Sera Sera

It may be out of our hands but it’s not over until it’s over. The only objective we have here is to win.

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Konate, Robertson; Henderson, Thiago, Keita; Diaz, Mane, Jota.

Subs: Kelleher, Van Dijk, Milner, Firmino, Salah, Jones, Minamino, Tsimikas, Elliott.

Origi doesn’t make the squad. No sentiment here. This is business.

Rob, him not making the squad may have been because of a worry that an injury might have scuppered a move but ya. The thing that worries me though is the distinct lack of Fabinho from the squad also. Will he actually be fit enough for the CL?

Not fit enough to make the bench one game but fully fit to start 6 days later? Definitely possible, but worrying.

Anyway, today is about the PL. Whatever about possibilities, they end today for 1 team, likely us but this teams legacy refuses to go quietly into the night.
Unlike some, I am not relaxed as I think it’s do-able. I have called a few things recently, so today I’ve put my money where my mouth is and put a 5er on Liverpool to win and another 5er on far less likely accumulator that doesnt involve either title challengers.
