…was nearly 7 and half hours ago.

You really messed this up TT. Took to long to get it up and running and even then most of those that came back to check out the new style probably look at this and think its just like any other forum out there. Might as well join a well established Spurs forum than one where people do not post in 7 and half hours.

The old style that you thought was so outdated etc was actually your USP. Fancy that.

GinolasHair, the problem is that, for circumstances beyond our control, we were without any sort of forum for a month. Understandably, it’s taken a while for the old posters to realise they are back, but hopefully it will happen in time. An international week isn’t helping as there’s not much to discuss.

Let’s not forget, though, that posts were approved extremely infrequently on the old site and not at all between 6pm-8am. So there were long delays waiting for posts on the old site, too! Once more users return, at least you’ll be able to have proper debates now.

Yes, it’s more like other forums, but it’s the posters that make every forum unique, and there have certainly been some interesting characters on this one over the years.

Mark. I understand that the new forum wasn’t your doing and that it was impossible for you to control how long it took but couldn’t you have given us more information? Or waited to take the old forum down until the new one was ready?

I want this new site to work just as much as you do. It has been a part of my days for years and years but I am worried and would like to see you try harder to help the situation along. You, Mark is the only one we see. Where is the rest of the TT crew helping to get the debate going by posting?

Thirtykane, I’m sure you’ll understand there’s only a limited amount I can say, but we did not find out as an editorial team until the very last minute that the forums would not be launched alongside the rest of the site, otherwise I’d have made sure we let you all know.

Mistakes have clearly been made along the way, but I’m not going to give up on the forums without a fight. Behind the scenes I’ve been helping get lots of people registered that have been having problems, but I honestly think a lot of the old regulars don’t know the pages are back yet. There are several things we’re doing or will be doing to help attract all of the old posters back, but in the meantime I can only ask that you bear with us and keep the posts coming to encourage more people to post themselves.

Thanks for the answer and the honesty mate.
I will do my part and we will just have to wait and see I guess!

Post infrequency didn’t bother most otherwise you would of lost members a long time ago. What made you different was the rolling comments, the format. Most of us are members of another forum which this is basically now exactly the same as, why would most bother using two when they are now exactly the same right down to the format.

I am sure over time you will gain some new people. But reckon you have lost far more.

Mark Surely if it works leave it alone, the old your say was far better than we have now and surely that is born out by the numbers on the old your say to what we have now. I have made several posts and received little or no response. I no the page is new but come on no one is on it, you would expect it to grow daily but it is not. Why not bite the bullet and go back to the old rolling posts on whatever subject and I am sure the old brigade will flock back.
I no it got a bit spicy in the past but that was part of the fun and kept people coming back. I never had a problem waiting for a post to appear and I am sure that applied to many of the others.

The old format was awash of WUMs and keyboard warriors. Interesting to see most of the non-returns are those people. I think it is because the old format was only searchable to a couple of days. Now, this very post I am writing will probably still be visible in 3 years! This will lead to people being able to trawl through post history and be able to, to borrow a phrase, “pull peoples pants down”. So now people are going to be very careful what they post, meaning it is no longer a haven for WUMs and keyboard warriors. Hence the reason it is going to take a very long time to recover, and even then, it will still be only the same as the next football forum. This forum has so many problems now, without even mentioning the poor design and lack of forum features (which I am sure will be fixed soon enough).

I am guessing the amount of time taken for it to recover, is going to be too long for the advertisers to keep faith.

People do indeed hate change, and I am sure the developers are using that phrase now to justify ploughing ahead but imo this is the beginning of the end for teamtalk. Hope I’m wrong, just like I hoped I was wrong about Adebayor. COYS!!

Good to see Hair, Hodd and Gus are back. I don’t envy being in Mr. Holmes’ position. The revamp has been a catastrophic failure and all done in public view. Just embarrassing. I’m sorry, but if you have a public facing website and are attempting an overhaul, planning and testing are even more important. Clearly, the project manager was clueless and none of the underlings had the balls to bust other people’s fairly blatant incompetence. Mr. Holmes’ claim that the old guard are not back because they don’t know the new Your Say is back is just jaw dropping. To sign up for the old forum, you needed an email address, right? If only there was a way to let everyone know the new forum is back. Gosh, what would that be? I’m all out of ideas and completely stumped. Maybe I could get a job at TT! 😉

I did not post that much but I loved to check out the articles… sometimes just reading the headlines and going straight down to the posts and reading what people had to say.

I used to check TeamTalk 3 or 4 times a day and now only check it once every few days and most of the time i am checking to see if you have reverted back to the old format.

Everything that made this site great has gone! How no one realized this before changing everything is unbelievable.

Admit your mistakes and change it back!
