I would not underestimate how bad yesterday was. I am starting to get seriously worried about LvG. Sitting there looking lost while the team are getting an absolute hammering on the pitch. It seems everyone could see that Schweinsteiger pressing high whilst the rest of the team dropped off was suicidal. Why not get of your arse and make a simple adjustment? Where was Schneiderlin? Why are Rooney and Depay guaranteed starts when they are playing absolutely awful? Depay’s work rate is a disgrace. Where is Herrera? More and more I am mystified how he is setting the team up. I don’t know if he thinks he can see things others can’t but whatever he sees is clearly not working. When you look at the performances that Koeman is getting out of that Southampton squad, it makes me wonder if LvG is the man to take us forward.

They definitely were off the pace from the start. The whole team looked like they’d just had lunch and were not ready for the game. I agree with playing Schneiderlin, at 25 he surely has to partner Schweinsteiger in the middle for a game like this as you need his legs to get about the pitch quicker. Whilst Depay was off the boil, the problem we have in taking him off is Rooney was even more off the boil. LVG system needs pacy wingers / attackers for it to work. When Depay came off, effectively that was the left-hand side attack over with. I think he could have had Pereira on the bench, because without another player to put out there, his system comes to a halt. Ok, Fellaini came on and stopped the Arsenal stroll in the park, coupled with them relaxing as well, but we had 1 decent chance after that. I.e. Fellaini did not really give us anything in attack, and Rooney gave us nothing from the left? The only player who looks like a gem is Martial, his touch is insane, and I love the way he can take the ball on the left or right wing and then skip past several challenges and put in a cross. He was unlucky with that swivel shot, but his touch was pure class. Last point, the squad is thin, we know that. Having makeshift RBs and LB’s is not going to help the defence. Darmian has suddenly lost his confidence in dramatic style; luckily we’ve all seen what he can do. Still, 2 points off the top, but work to be done.

There are endless discussion points that could be pointed out from yesterday’s match. the obvious need for young legs in midfield would be one, the combination of Carrick and Basti would be another. However, what is really mystifying is LVG bewilderment at the start the team made. He pointed out that half of the team was not functioning as planned. You play arsenal, you know how they will play. Therefore, you plan how to play against them accordingly. Giggs definitely knows how Arsenal play. We have outplayed them on numerous occasions prior to yesterday and almost always came on top. The space that was left for them to play is inexplicable. It did seem to me that the team didnt really know what to do. So the question that has to be posed to LVG is that since he is a man of directness and objectivity, how come half of your team did not know what to do since the start of the match?! Honestly, looking back at the result, i am actually not that disappointed with the 3, it could have been much worse. This drives me to the second point, we really are forgoing our English style in order to win. LVG has said it more than once, that he is more than happy to win ugly – which is fair enough if you hadnt invested the sums that you have. The way LVG looks at a football match with that 3 stages of building up play is stifling the team and making them too predictable. We need to have a change in approach or lets go out for Ancelotti, i really think he would get us back to the pinnacle of football with his attacking intent.

Can’t disagree chaps,I came to the view that this is a job too far for LVG some months ago and that he is not the man to take us forward. His autocratic methods and outdated slow possession style of football is brutal to watch and will ultimately end in his sacking once a few more defeats stack up and the fans turn against him.As for him being shocked by our slow start, has he already forgotten the first 20 minutes at Southampton when we could easily have been 3-0 down or the goal we conceded in 3 minutes against Wolfsburg last week?.Fact is,his teams never go for the opposition’s throat right from the off which means when it happens against us we struggle badly to cope, especially when we’ve got total plod donkey’s like Carrick and Rooney chasing shadows all over the pitch.

Yesterday- All our troubles seemed so far away and then we kicked off. It is so obvious what is wrong with United that I am astounded that LVG, Giggs and the other bloke haven’t realised that a change of approach is desperately needed. I suspect that Giggs is well aware but is afraid to open his mouth for fear of queering his pitch for the future. When he took over from Moyes there was an instant improvement. He is in danger of being blackened by being associated with a foreign philosophy.

You have a basic problem. Far too many of your players are desperately slow. To be honest I don’t see you making the top4. I’d even back Leicester and the likes of Everton to beat you.

Hark at the Arsenal ‘fan’ coming on here time and again giving it the big one’s just because his team of perennial Premier League under achievers have managed to finally nail a league win against our “desperately slow” team for the first time in almost 5 years!.I think you would be better served contemplating how many more years it’s going to be before you actually WIN the Premier league again chum because it will be 12 and counting by the end of this season for sure.Whilst you’re at it you can also start looking forward to the very real prospect of playing Europa League football on Thursday night’s from February 2016 onwards.Having done so it might just help you get over this tendency you seem to have to come across as a right smug git!.

Ahhhhh diddums. Oh dear, have you spit your dummy out. I was merely making a valid point, a point many of your fellow Manc fans have made all season. I’m sorry, I thought I was posting to adults not babies. If you can’t take the fact that your side simply isn’t good enough to win the PL then I suggest you try Football Manager, I’m sure you could rig it so you win every season.

Problem is you keep making the same point time and again on here as though your the only one who can see it,funny you weren’t doing it before the game on Sunday as you were all still spitting your bile at Arsene after the Olympiakos shambles!.I think you will find it is unanimous from all of us on here that LVG is an imposter and is leading us nowhere,so feel free to jog on back to your own page and concern yourself with your own teams issues of which there are many as most Arsenal fans would admit. As for being “babies”,I will let others read your last infantile post and decide for themselves, simple as that chum.

Oh dear you really are a stroppy little madam. Pointless trying to have a sensible debate with such a child. LVG’s record shows he’s a quality manager, perhaps the problems lie elsewhere but I won’t bother discussing it with you. What would be the point given your level of response.

Where is the “sensible debate” chum?.All you’ve done today is post on 3 seperate threads saying that we won’t get top 4,fair enough that’s your opinion and we get it and time will obviously tell. Why you feel the need to keep labouring the same point I don’t know, that’s why I compared you to a smug git.Let’s face it,if we are so bad why are you even concerned about posting on our forum several times in a day to make the same point, surely you expected nothing less than a resounding win anyway so it was no big deal was it?!.It’s a bit like when we stuffed you 8-2 a few years ago,I never felt the need to trot over to the Arsenal page with my ‘pearls of wisdom’ because whatever I would have had to say on there they already knew in spades anyway, simple as that.
