One season wonder?

There is a thread on Liverpool yoursay page where their fans seriously discussing how Salah is a better player than Messi. Don’t get me wrong, Salah has just one good season, but the thing is players like him come and go and Ronaldo and Messi reign supreme. What those two have done for over a decade is near impossible to duplicate. Consider this, Ronaldo and Messi are no longer the dominant forces they were back in the day. Age and injuries are having their say now. Last season was arguably their worst seasons in a while with Messi having a hard time in the UCL and Ronaldo showing up late in La Liga, but even Salah’s jaw dropping best season is still below par with sub-par seasons those two have given.

I dont know why Salah is nominated for Uefa player of the year in top 3? Messi had soooo better stats than Salah. People at Anfield used to serenade the tune “I’ll be Muslim too” for Salah. They named him the “Egyptian King”. Why did they do it? Because they wanted to create a hero like Eric Cantona. But sadly the fact is that Salah will not even be better than Luis Suarez at Liverpool. Salah is a 1 season wonder and also learned he is a massive snow flake too, beta male. Any other player would have continued in the CL final, but he went off with a hurty shoulder a 5 year old would have run off. He is also responsible for one of the biggest dives of the season so far to cheat Liverpool a penalty. Salah will be a diving wonder this season.

The MartialArt

Salah is a great player but it’s a lot to expect him to live up to the same sort of goal scoring achievements of last season he might not get 32 goals in the PL this season but he’ll still score 20 plus imo from a wide right position.

Mohamed Salah TEAMtalk

That’s why I called him a one season wonder. He’ll not replicate his performance from last season. So, you wonder why Liverpool fans were comparing him with Messi. Messi is a legend playing at the highest level for many years. As for scoring 20 goals, I mean Lukaku scored 20+ goals for a number of seasons. And scoring goals alone doesn’t make him a great player. I don’t think Hazard scored 20+ goals in a season but I have seen him leading Chelsea to major titles. Liverpool fans keep typing out their desperate desires to make Salah a hero like Cantona, Henry etc. Its funny they called Salah ‘king’. There is only one king in the PL. ERIC THE KING. The most enigmatic player ever to grace the premier league. One of the most influential players ever. Players like Cantona, Henry, Zlatan, Messi, Ronaldo and even Hazard have a huge presence on the pitch. You wont notice Salah on the pitch if he doesn’t score goals. Firmino tracks back to win the ball or to take the pass which allows Salah to run inside and give him the ball he puts in the net. Firmino create as well as scores. Now, Salah is doing himself no favours, his diving is absolutely appalling. The Liverpool fans are hypocrites and defend his behaviour.

My lil siz is with me now. Here is her message for you. Salah’s won nothing. He’ll never even be a one season wonder.

The MartialArt

Cantona is nothing like a Henry, Zlatan, Messi or Ronaldo. He was a massive disappointment in the CL and and a massive flop at international level.

The only thing Cantona did that was world class was turning his collar up.

Giroud or Morata?

Quite a good article on Sky taken from the MNF review comparing how well Hazard plays with Giroud or Morata

Probably no surprise to many on here but in all categories, Giroud comes out as the clear winner and Hazard alluded to that in his after match interview how he enjoys playing with Giroud. It is this partnership that is credited with Hazard scoring as many goals in 5 games this season as it took him till Xmas last season

With Morata playing tonight I would assume that means Giroud to start on Sunday, Morata again in the Caribou with Giroud again in the EPL against Liverpool. Would be great if Giroud could get his own goal scoring boots working as well but so long as he continues to link up and feed Hazard then we could be in for a decent season. KTBFFH

CFC1905

Yeah, it’s a team game 1905. But as proved at arsenal, you won’t win a title playing led legs up top.

Strikers must score goals and giroud doesn’t or can’t find the back of the net. Will giroud score more than ten league goals? History suggest not… and strikers are in sides to score goals.

Makes me think what on earth was said between the club and Michy. Sarri has a tendency to use smaller pacey strikers. Giroud is a round peg in a square hole. Really impressed by his attitude but not by his goal scoring prowess… Conte lumped us another player we didn’t need during his hissy fit.

three assists against relegation fodder… Somehow a world beater and winner with France, 29 shots during the world cup, no goals… If it continues to work then so be it… But I think Hazard is doing him a favour here.

RomansDirtyPants

Roman, we are where we are mate and Sarri has to make the most of the players he’s has available to him. Giroud isn’t a bad option for us albeit he’s not the regular scorer we need but I doubt we will solve that problem until next Summer.

personally I dont think any of the 3 are going to work in the long term meaning when it comes to scoring regularly, their is also once again quite a bit of talk going around that Chelsea is in the market for a striker in Jan.. Cant say its true but if it is that implies that they have decided thats the way to rather go. A big club like Chelsea cant tolerate wasting time can only give players so much time to come off. Lack of a free scoring striker could cost the club heavily.

What we’ve seen so far: Hazard works better with Giroud than with Morata. Morata does not hold the ball. But agree that both aren’t prolific and have never been. As 999 says: Sarri has to work with players we have. So no choice this season. I hope it won’t cost us the top 4. But completely agree with rds that if we want to win the title: we need a striker who scores regularly. Probably at least 15-20 goals per season

A pleasant surprise

I’m very happy to see Pogba & Martial playing well and scoring; very happy to see Lindelof showing that given a little patience, he’ll definitely come good. But what am most delighted about is Diogo Dalot. Wow Mourinho pulled off another masterclass by signing this young lad for United! On his debut he looked like he’s played for United for 5 years! Every time I watch Valencia running with the ball, stopping suddenly, turning back and sliding it back or sideways, my heart sinks, I groan! That’s no way to play right back in modern football. He must be able to attack, and regularly orchestrate quick counters and wing play. With Dalot, now United have a proper right back: unfazed, attack minded, bold, quick, good on the ball & able to cross properly! Well done Mourinho, you’ve plugged a very important hole in this team! Dalot, welcome to Old Trafford, home of England’s greatest, most successful & world’s biggest, richest, most famous football club!

Young, two footed, quick, excellent crosser, good in the air and strong in the tackle. Speaks five languages, volunteers at an orphanage in Salford and he’s got a massive c*ck.

He really does have da lot.
