Sources: Sunderland reject Burnley bid in excess of £10m for disgruntled Jack Clarke

Sunderland have rejected a Burnley bid in excess of £10m for Jack Clarke
Sunderland have rejected a new bid in excess of £10m from Burnley for winger Jack Clarke, TEAMtalk understands.
Burnley have made former Tottenham and Leeds Utd attacker Clarke one of their top targets this summer as they prepare his side for life back in the Premier League. The Clarets have seen several bids rejected by Sunderland, including the latest offer of over £10m.
Clarke is understood to be keen on a move away as he seeks to play at the highest level possible and establish himself in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old is also unhappy that Sunderland have gone against their word that they would sell him for £10m by rejecting Burnley’s latest offer.
Clarke is a target for a number of Premier League clubs following his impressive form for Sunderland last season.
The skilful attacker had over 20 goal contributions for Sunderland last season with 11 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.
Clarke still has three years to run on his current deal at the Stadium of Light and Sunderland are reluctant to lose the wide-man.
Former Leeds star Clarke initially joined Sunderland on loan in January 2022 and made 20 appearances on the way to helping secure promotion to the Championship via the League One play-offs.
Sunderland turned his loan move from Tottenham into a permanent deal last summer and the skilful attacker has continued to flourish under Black Cats boss Tony Mowbray.
It remains to be seen if Burnley come with another improved offer for Clarke as they look to persuade Sunderland to finally cash-in on the attacker before the close of the transfer window.
