Lewandowski gives approval to Bayern pursuit of €70m Prem star

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has welcomed the reports linking the club with a move for Leroy Sane.

With Bayern looking for new wingers as they say goodbye to long-serving wide men Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben this summer, Manchester City’s Sane has emerged as one of their top targets.

Earlier this week, Kicker claimed that Bayern were preparing a €70m bid for the German, with Pep Guardiola not standing in Sane’s way if he wants more game time.

Now, the same German source have quizzed current Bayern star Lewandowski on whether or not he thinks Sane would be a good addition.

“Yeah. This is a great player with great quality and potential,” explained the Polish centre-forward.

“I’ve seen how good he has been many times, those players can get you up from the very first game and improve the team.”

Sane is under contract until 2021, but City’s negotiations over an extension have hit a stumbling block, meaning the transfer to Bayern could happen.
