Liverpool ready to rush through new deal for Mohamed Salah
Liverpool are set offer Mohamed Salah a new contract after reportedly telling Real Madrid the Egypt forward is not for sale.
The Daily Mail suggest that Salah will not be sold this summer, even if Real place a £200million offer on the table.
Salah, 25, has had a brilliant season for the Reds, firing 43 goals in all competitions – helping Liverpool to close in on a top-four place in the Premier League and move to within touching distance of the Champions League final.
The dynamic forward signed from Roma for £36.9million last summer, penning a five-year deal on around £90,000 a week.
The player’s value has soared since and Liverpool are desperate to improve his terms in a bid to keep hold of the player, who has second time around taken the Premier League by storm.
The report claims the club have a strong relationship with Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, and that the terms of his contract will be reviewed as a matter of urgency.
New signing Virgil van Dijk is believed be on around £150,000 a week after signing from Southampton in January and the club will have to at least match that in Salah’s new terms, while they will also be hoping not to include a release clause in the new agreement.
Reports from Spain have suggested Real Madrid are chasing Salah, while a fanciful report yesterday from Don Balon claimed Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd had all “tabled proposals” for Salah.
